This song always goes hard at the second line. Jermaine Jackson recorded this song during his solo career in the 80s; Phil Frasier learned the song in band while attending Clark High School in Treme. Later his band Rebirth Brass Band covered it, began playing it at the second lines and TBC has since taken the baton and has been rocking it for the past few years. The original Jackson version doesn't sound nearly as good as what New Orleans turned it into Source:...

The band played TBC original Mardi Gras Indian song 'Wild Magnolia', lyrics by Glen David Andrews. At 3:04 minute mark, footwork master Scubble from YMO Jr....

A performance by Bay Area chicanx songwriter/composer, Jess Sylvester (Marinero). Marinero is known for his dreamy, cholo-fi signature style of taking samples of 60s latin music and adding spacey pop flavors. His newest album, Trópico de Cáncer, is rooted in bossa nova and Tropicália sounds.  Watch his profile in Content Magazine: https://vimeo.com/356981000   You can find more of his music on his webpage: https://maringuero.bandcamp.com/

Ivan Forde (b. 1990) works across printmaking, digital animation, sound performance, and installation. Using a wide variety of photo-based and print-making processes (and more recently music and performance), Ivan Forde retells stories from epic poetry casting himself as every character. His non-linear versions of these time-worn tales open the possibility of new archetypes and alternative endings. By crafting his own unique mythology and inserting himself in historical narratives, he connects...

James & Caslon are doing something we haven't ever been able to accomplish in our music series! They're performing live together while sheltering in place! James brought out his engineering skills to make this happen and there's wires running between their apartments to ensure that their sound is cohesive and in sync.   A little bit about them as musicians: James is a synthesizer wizard who has been making music for 20 years, most notably in his project Synthescheiße, an improvisational...

Mark Weber of the Computer History Museum interviewed Brewster Kahle and Tim Pozar in 1996. Tim talked about SF's first ISP when you couldn't "resell bandwidth" but we did anyway and got kicked off of UUNET because of it. And Brewster talks about Alexa and the Internet Archive.
