nevadans. i relied on them every day to do my job. and i couldn't have done it without them. i am profoundly grateful and forever grateful to each and every one of them. thank you to my colleagues for making my time as a member of congress unforgettable. i have made so many friends here, friendships that will last a lifetime. thank you to all the staff and the house of representatives, including the floor staff, the cleaning crew, the kitchen staff, all of you who i enjoyed many great conversations with. and thank you to my family and friends for all of your unconditional support and thank you, once again, to my constituents, for putting your faith and trust in me. i am blessed and honored to serve you and grateful for the opportunity to give back to the state and country that has given me and my family so much. speaker, may god bless nevada, and may god bless the united states of america. designee of the majority leader. today i say goodbye to the house of representatives after 20 years of service. thank you to the people of life, ton honor of my be the voice of many people from new york city. as the son and grandson of the son of a new york city cop and a husband and father, i can only hope i made my family proud. my family is everything to me. they taught me to pursue fairness, justice, use my power and size, use my voice for good to give back. i hope my colleagues will keep working together to do the same.

[applause] [laughter] rep. crowley: we all have different backgrounds, but we are all united by our shared dreams. with this great land. i believe in the best of america. it's people, and it's public service. i give thank you to my family for their love and support. to my mother who is unable to be here tonight. my brother, my sisters, my brother's wife and their boys, my sister's children who are here and their families. [applause]

[laughter] i appreciate the indulgence of the speaker. , i will not tell you their age because they can be on the floor. of course, my wife. to my staff, the greatest staff and the person they could ever have, all of you have made such a great journey from the darkest days of my life of 9/11 to the passage of the affordable care act. a very special moment for me. to be a part of this amazing ride. i say thank you all and god bless you all.
