frightening moments in southern india, as a house is swept into a river during extreme flooding. you see it there. at least 28 people have been killed. 9,000 others have been forced into shelters, and more rain expected tomorrow. there is now a record number of cargo ships waiting to dock in southern california, and more of them are arriving in coming days. this morning the waiting line of cargo ships off the california coast is getting longer. a record 100 ships are waiting to enter the ports of long beach and los angeles. for comparison, an average of only 17 would typically be waiting, and 45 more ships are due to arrive by thursday, adding to the supply chain backlog that's leading to empty store shelves across the country and higher prices everywhere. >> we have trouble with logistics internally getting product to market. we have some loads that have been actually on the truck for

almost a week. >> the ceo of one toymaking company says the cost of shipping supplies like cardboard and plastics have recently increased by 300%. he expects some toy prices to double by next year. >> we're going to have to go back to retailers and offer them an item that retailed for $20, $25, it's now retailing for, you know, $30, $35 or maybe even $40. >> the biden administration has taken steps to alleviate the logjam, announcing that the port of los angeles will operate 24/7. but a trade group representing clothing manufacturers is demanding more action, suggesting the use of national guard or naval ports to help unload cargo. ports in florida are now inviting cargo ships to that state, tweeting quote, let's save christmas. meanwhile, they're alarmed by the shortage of workers. >> we have full medical, profit sharing, 401(k). we really have a nice package for employees, but it's been difficult to, again, just to hire and maintain.

next to a piece of ancient egyptian art that helped uncover a smuggling scheme. with more than 259 million followers, each post is bound to be at least a little important. but solving an international smuggling scheme, the like button on instagram doesn't cover that. this photo of kim from the 2018 met gala, posing next to the coffin leading to the conclusion of a years' long criminal case. >> we are very fortunate to have this beautiful coffin. made of gilded cartonage. and we've built an exhibition around this coffin. >> half a million people coming to see the golden coffin. the centerpiece of an exhibition at the met back in 2018. according to ancient egyptian text, the use of gold in this coffin would have assisted the deceased priest in being reborn into the next life. but the metropolitan museum of art receiving a tip after kim's photo from the met gala in heavy

gold hairliner went viral. the museum discovering the sarcophagus may have been stolen and closed the exhibit immediately. they were informed by someone in the middle east who recognized the coffin and knew it had been looted. officials saying they had bought the sarcophagus in paris for $4 million but an art dealer in 2017, but were fooled by fake papers saying it had been legitimately exported decades ago. one helpful clue in identifying the scheme, looters mistakenly leaving a finger bone inside the coffin where it remained when the artifact arrived to the met. the coffin was made in egypt somewhere between 100 and 50 bc and remained buried more than 2000 years. but the kim k. picture is what broke the case right open. after realizing what happened, the met returned the coffin to egypt where it was put on display in the grand egyptian museum in cairo. following that incident, the met vowed to review and revise its acquisitions process. >> i'm not surprised because kim
