An unusual trailer for an unusual drama in which a world-famous concert pianist (Arliss) finds an unexpected way to compensate for his sudden loss of hearing. A good cast includes Bette Davis in a major supporting role. Ray Milland has a minor role unrelated to the main plot. Considering its age, this well-produced and directed early talky stands up well.
NOTE: A very good print of this film has recently been released on DVD.
CAST NOTE; In 1929 George Arliss won the first best actor oscar for the title role in "Disraeli," which he also had played in the 1921 silent version.
