First my Cons: I couldn't get too much into the beginning of the show - probably just me. Not that AS was bad, actually pretty decent. Sound quality of recording was very good.
Now for the Pros: AS just blew the doors off many bluegrass/newgrass bands! Listen to some of their extended songs in the last half of the show - unbelievable. The band absolutely cooks when they are jamming!
I especially was impressed with:
Dancing to the Requiem, Fly Swatter, Morning Dew, Good While It Lasted, Baba O'Riley, One More Dollar, Brown Mt Lights, Rainbow Roller Coaster amd The Grind.
Just so you know, the order of the player is messed up - the song titles are one or two off/the times show correct.

This is quite posssibly one of the best shows I have had the pleasure of listening to. My wife was there and i have seen the pics i now know why she was taken away like that. This is definetley one of those life changing experiences even if you can only hear it on this great recording, in which i might add is right on target. Thanks to Acoustic for all the terrific memories and smiles. We already miss you guys come back please. Give us a miracle and let us shake our bones one more time. Anyways much love and peace to all who made this happen!!!!!!

Man o Man, what a barn burner! Very professional ass kickin way to maybe end the bands tenure! Notice the attention to the setlist, the few seconds between songs,the return to the hand drums, great covers, sugaree/morning dew?, how dare them, pure energy in carolina that fine sunday night. What, a Sunday Night at a festival? You got that right! Religious for sure!

Opens flat out and builds from there with enough power to have blown the doors off an indoor venue. The top-notch musicianship, excellent recording of a technically challenging show, and sheer energy more than cover the occasional vocal deficiencies. This group's original style establishes an entire new genre of contemporary music. Let's hope there's someone out there to carry it on--all the way into the mainline where it belongs. Clear Channel take notice.

I didn't know these guys but finally I am getting around to mining the archive after downloading Grateful Dead like a fiend until recently. Great songs and just a great feeling band with some real powerful home grown music. The track tagging is off on the VBR MP3's so refer to the set list and change the tags. This is better than 5 stars, more like 9.

i really dig this. no woman no cry is sugaree the song that says sugaree is really really freakin good though.

This is a great show, and I love the fact that it's here. I understand Neumann's comment about this recording representing the "true sound" of the show, but for historical purposes, could you please make the SBD avail?

This might be one of the best shows on the archive.Thier last show.Man are they going to be missed.I agree w/ one of the reviewers that said unlike PHISH,they went out on top.I AGREE!!!!!!!This show is Unlike anything I heard.The Neumanns do this recording justice!Such a wonderful sounding show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This recording is truly a historical document, worthy of preservation. They definitely went out on a high note. The Syndicate will be missed, but if anybody ever wonders who they were and what was so great about them, this show tells the story.

This was a great final show. It left me speechless when they left the stage for the final time. The sound quality of this recording is excellent. Thanks Dirk for letting me share it. I have the sbd too and I have only listened to it once because this audience tape does a excellent job of representing the true sound of the show for me. You wont regret downloading this show. It looks as if the missing tracks have been fixed. Enjoy!

hmmm.... great sound but i still can't figure out how to get sweetest breeze and a better place. i know someone mentioned about the parent directory, could anyone help me as to how i actually do this? that would be wonderful , i can't wait to hear this show again!

I just feel it neccessary to shout a huge thank you to the guys that had the sound for this set so right on time. Through the whole festival it was amazing from everywhere, but Syndicate's set was one of the most crystal clear things I have ever heard, I spent almost the wholw second set on the hill for the simple fact that the sound quality made the music just consume you completely from up there. The sound of this recording is so good, I don't even want the SBDs. Thanks to the boys in the band, thanks to the Neumankid for the kickdown, and thanks to everyone there to send the boys off the way they deserved to go.

This was one of the hottest performances I have ever seen. Unlike how Phish went out, it was so nice to see these guys go out on the note they did. At least twice during the show, I was brought to tears.
I was fortunate enough to get a birthday all access pass kicked down to me early on in the festival, I didnt use it other than to go up on stage ocassionally and see it from that vantage point, which is where I was the 1st part of the 2nd set when they were playing a lot of their slower songs. It was so nice to see all their friends and family sitting up there in folding chairs embracing one another.
I noticed a couple of posts saying they were missing a couple of songs, once I unzipped it, the only song I could find missing was set 2 track 7, are there any more missing? I'll wait to get a complete show before I burn it, but thank you so much for posting this up. It brings back such good memories from the best birthday party of my life.

Just a quick note....Sweetest Breeze and A Better Place are indeed in the parent directory on the server. However, for whatever reason they did not make it into the zipped FLAC file, as well as some of the MP3 conversion, etc. I have reported this error to the admin's. Hopefully they will correct it without requiring another upload. Until they correct it, you can simply go back into the parent directory and scroll down until you find "as2005-05-29set1t09.flac" and "as2005-05-29set2t07.flac." It would have also been helpful to have the tracks named according to etree standards but I am very grateful and thankful Dirk rolled tape for this slice of history. I hope to eventually have a board copy uploaded here as well.

not knowing this band very well, i won't know where the mistake is until getting more familiar. i do know that, as of this post, the No Woman and Fly Swatter links take you to Sugaree and Dew.

great sound on what i've heard so far. feeling very down about just finding them as they disband.

not having listened to this whole show yet, the 5 presently represents my enthusiasm for finding more. the sound quality from the bits i have checked out is better than the 2-15-05 show.

it was very sad to know this was the last show of this multi talented band of friends. i know some people are pretty torn up they disbanded-- but glad they got to experience them for all those years. this show really was so smoking that i could have gone another hour --making it close to 5 hours as it was. it was one very special concert--the end of a great band on a new stage that was finished just days before. hopefully we will get to see the REUNION show on the same stage some day>>>>>>:) !!!! DEERFIELDS ROCKS maybe i can hear myself yelling POWDERFINGER as loud as i could (they did not play it)
