In this lecture, Mr. Hendrix focuses on the area near the traditional heart of the Auburn Campus where Mell Street and Thach Street meet. This area was home to faculty, to the institution's first drill and athletic fields, it's Carnegie Library, and most notable Old Main and Samford Hall.

John Strohmeyer was a Puliter Prize winning journalist and editor of the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Globe Times newspaper. Mr. Strohmeyer spoke for the ACOIA at 10:15am on Thursday, February 17th, 1966.
