Classic TV by HappySwordsman

More or less abandoned sub-section. I still love classic TV, but have almost completely run out of stuff to upload.

Many of these uploads are sourced from Shokus Video and Alpha Video DVDs. But I stopped buying DVDs several years ago, and hence there are no more uploads. Personally, I'm hoping these series come to the streaming services in the future.

Episode "Santa's Helper" of the oddly-named 1950s sitcom "Date with the Angels". In this episode, the lead character tries to get a job for an elderly friend, which causes trouble when, after getting a job as a Department store Santa, he starts giving away toys for free. Starring Betty White. Sorry for picture quality flaws caused by issues beyond my control.

A 1973 documentary about the Apollo 17 mission to the moon during December 1972. Produced by A-V Corporation for NASA. The film was distributed both as an ephemeral film (shown to an audience via a 16mm film projector), and was also shown on TV (and was shown on both public and commercial stations per a search of vintage newspapers).

An episode of Dinah Shore's popular NBC variety series. Guest stars are Art Carney, Betty Hutton, Boris Karloff. Lots of music and comedy. Before you ask for a colour version, may I remind you that no colour video-tapes survive from 1957, and colour kinescopes are exceptionally rare.

Unsold television pilot starring Arthur Lake, with guest star Hans Conried. This is a comedy. Lake's character tries to sell a bunch of surfboards to a hotel owner. There's a funny recurring joke where telephones shake when somebody is calling.

One of the earliest reality TV series, but not the first (that was "Cash and Carry", 1946-1947). This is a highlights episode aired in 1953 (re-uploaded due to sync problems with previous upload).

An episode of "What's My Line" from 1953, featuring Eleanor Roosevelt as the mystery guest (her voice was considered so recognisable that John Daly answers the questions for her). A very popular game show.

A 1975 documentary looking back on the Apollo moon missions. Narrated by Burgess Meredith. Produced by Image Associates for NASA.  Not strictly a TV documentary, but uploaded it to the classic TV section anyway. It did get shown on TV though, on both commercial and non-commercial stations (per a search of vintage TV schedules).

An episode of "Jackpot Bowling", an NBC series in which professional bowlers competed against each other. Hosted by Milton Berle. There is also a celebrity guest, in this case Mort Sahl. Not sure why he is on a bowling show though. Please note that the picture quality is abysmal, in fact the picture quality is so bad you'll want your eyes to be gouged out by an Uchiha clan member. You have been warned. Complete with original cigar commercials.

An episode of the controversial yet popular proto-reality TV series "Queen for a Day". Much-panned by critics of the day. This is from late March 1958 based on one of the promos it contains. (note: this episode "Queen for a Day" aired at 4PM to 4:45PM each weekday on NBC, followed by the 15-minute "Modern Romances". This 45 minute episode contains original commercials and promos).
