A Minnesota based non-profit is fighting bullying with blaster battles.
\1Project My Neighborhood\1 uses Nerf Battles to bring children and adults together for a day of fun and bullying prevention. More than a thousand participants fired their Nerf guns at the National Sports Center in Blaine last Saturday. Teams play tag, capture the flag and other high activity games while dodging nerf darts. These blaster battles teach teamwork, leadership and wellness while building friendships.
\1Hopefully people will be kinder to each other, that they’ll think about working together, that they’ll include people in their team, that maybe they wouldn’t have otherwise and so that’s huge,\1 says Brittney Nelson, Project My Neighborhood Co-Founder.
Project My Neighborhood has been hosting the games in the Twin Cities area for three years, drawing large crowds. Proceeds from the Blaster Battles support bullying prevention programs and the development of a bullying prevention app.
