Abstract — Sexual health (SH) and sexual behavior of young people have become a growing public concern. But few studies have been conducted to investigate the prevalence and psychosocial correlates of this phenomenon. Purpose: To understand college students’ sexual knowledge (SK) , sexual attitudes (SA), sexual desire (SD) and sexual behavior (SB). Methods : A self-reported questionnaire survey on SK , SA, SD, and SB was conducted among 520 university students. Their demographic data, SK ,...

Air and soil warming influences both plants and root herbivorous insects, but how warming alters their interactions is largely unknown. Because both the intensity of herbivory and plant susceptibility to the herbivory depend on temperature, it is difficult to predict the effects of insect herbivory on plant growth under warming. To analyse changes in belowground plant-insect interaction due to warming, we conducted a pot experiment using one grass species, Lolium perrene, and one beetle grub...

This paper presents a developed voltage stability index for identifying the most sensitive buses to the voltage collapse in radial distribution networks. The developed index is based on the transferred active and reactive power of a distribution line. The developed index utilizes the continuous power-flow solution calculated using real time power-flow software in distribution management systems. The developed stability index is tested and validated using commercial continuation load-flow...

Despite the growing importance of cities in climate change mitigation, there remains a dearth of rigorous analysis to inform municipal climate policies and mitigation strategies. Our study addresses this gap in the literature. Austin is a valuable testbed for analysis because it is a member of the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group and its...

The classified design parameters are; the maximum lift coefficient for landing and take-off, the maximum aerodynamic efficiency and the specific fuel consumption. The entire concept is based on the preliminary sizing of jet powered civil aeroplanes. This preliminary sizing is explained in detail because it is the foundation of the final result. The preliminary sizing is combined using reverse...

Due to increased urbanisation, and climate change, there have been calls for a more sustainable management of stormwater. Blue-green measures have been recognised as a sustainable solution and a necessary complement to pipe-bound approaches. The aim of this study is to identify barriers and drivers in the implementation of blue-green measures in a Swedish context, to increase the understanding of how they could be implemented in a more successful manner. In response to anthropogenic climate change, bioethics scholars have advocated a return to its roots in Van Rensselaer Potter's vision of bioethics as a discipline integrating the humanities and the sciences to support ecology. These scholars have noted that the discipline of bioethics diverged from this vision, and today its focus is on human health. This paper's ultimate argument is that these scholars do not appreciate the radicalness of their proposal and its potential to disrupt the...

Paleopedology and pedostratigraphy are devoted to the use of buried and relict soils in interpreting the record of environmental conditions that are different from the current ones. As such, paleosols may be used in models that aim at predicting future earth system reactions to changing environmental conditions. Dated paleosols are an important part of the natural heritage and should be protected.

In recent years, there has been a major increase in the commercialization of horticultural crops in response to population increase. However, several important factors associated with pre- and post-harvest conditions, including drought stress, pathogen infection, water loss and climate change are limiting the commercialization potential of many horticultural crops, thereby compromising agricultural sustainability. The cuticle, which is composed of cutin and waxes, provides a critical structural...

Tidal level is an indispensable record that is required for the  safe navigation of ships in harbours; planning and safe  execution of various coastal engineering projects. Harmonic  analysis, the most widely used method for prediction of  tides, involves the computation of harmonic constants which  require excessive data. Numerical models require large  amount of data in the form of bathymetry and boundary  conditions. Artificial Neural Network (ANN)  has been widely applied in coastal...
