FREE DJ SETS FROM APRIL 20-MAY 20!!!
On April 20, I turn 21 years old. Now I can begin to play all the 21+ venues that I never could in the past. As of April 20, I am offering free DJ sets for one month. No strings attached, no nonsense, just free. Why am I doing this? Exposure, exposure, exposure. Previously in Kansas, I would work a full weekend and bring in $500-plus per weekend. But now that I have relocated to San Diego, I must rebuild my fanbase. That is why I am offering this free month of DJ Spidey. Any set booked from April 20 to May 20 is completely free. So ask yourself, "Why not?" This is a win-win oportunity, you get entertainment for your guests and I get a crowd to play to. Contact me soon, because as you know, free to a venue is like fire to the moth. Book early and book often!
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR:
Mostly, I look to play rock or hip hop venues. I have played everything from clubs with large dance floors where I am the main attraction to downtime in between sets at rock shows, where I provide a nice alternative to that reggae cd on repeat.
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF:
1) When I'm not DJing, I go to school full time as an English major at San Diego State, I work in the University Development Office at San Diego State University, and I have an internship at Studio West recording studio. In my free-time (what little there is), I produce and remix music. 2) I began spinning when I was 15, wanting to be a DJ in a band. Then it just evolved. 3)My favorite DJs are Z-Trip, Shadow, Premier, & Cut Chemist and Numark. 4) The coolest thing about DJing is that it is a mix of the left-brained technical aspects of music and the right-brained creative aspects. 5) I grew up in Salina, KS. 6) My favorite groups are 311, Sublime, 2 Skinnee J's, Rage Against The Machine, & Red Hot Chili Peppers. 7) I have a black pug named Gargamel.
THE MUSICAL EVOLUTION OF SPIDEY:
Growing up in the deepest wheat fields of Kansas, I listened to bands like Sublime and 311 that fused rock and hip hop. Seeing that the DJ work set these bands apart from the blander genre-confined bands, I got myself a pair of turntables, with the ultimate goal of being a DJ in a band. After several projects, I began remixing and producing groups, always pushing the envelope of genrefication. My latest venture is that of the untraditional traditional DJ. Now, I am combining the DJ culture I have come to embrace with the rock music that has always moved me. This combination culminates in both the musical selection and mixing style that I use in my endless quest to break down musical barriers.
