From ebbing to epical, Frolic provides shifting and drifting ambient layers of atmosphere coupled withcrystalline guitars and lofty, angelic female vox. In the Summer of 2000 we were signed to PROJEKT Records.
Formed in 1995 in Columbus, Ohio, Frolic recorded many guitar-driven sessions. After moving to Orlando in 1997, more emphasis on the atmospheric, layered synthsounds became more apparent. The first album, "Permafrost," on Velvet Empire Records, has gained rave reviews from media such as Darkwave Distribution and Outburn Magazine. The latest EP, "Fragments of the Past,"available only on MP3.Com, includes material from the summer of 1995, when the band lived together in anold Victorian home (that some say was haunted). In March 2000, we provided a track on the Projekt compilation "Serieenia," and were then signed to the label the following summer. In March 2001 we released our debut on Projekt Records entitled "To Dream, Perchance to Sleep" to much acclaim in the ambient/ethereal genres.
