The most compelling thing about Not Davis is that once you listen to the songs you're likely to find them running through your head the next day.
The Debut Album: To Remain Unnamed, release date late 2003
The Sound: Modern pop-centric rock. Driving melodies that stick to your palette and forceful guitar riffs. Evocative lyrics combined with warm and powerful vocals. Above all, an unabashedly confident and emotive rock quartet.
The Songs: Having been known to take on a darker side of lyrical imagery, they describe the feeling of trying to exist in the surreal world we sometimes dream of, the feeling of wanting and needing something, but not being sure how to approach it. Describing everything from a long lost love in Incompetence, to a troubled personal relationship in Wasn't Like You, they also touch on the everyday problems we as human beings experience.
I can ride these times with nostalgia on my mind, can't believe you've gone in my time; Days are real but this dream is to surreal can't believe you've gone in my time 9-5
The Band: Jason Chaffee vocals, guitar Ty Creighton drums Eric Gudgel guitar John Isenhart Bass, Backing vocals
Not Davis was formed three years ago in Seattle, Washington. With each member bringing a plethora of experience and energy to the table, the group clicked and decided to stay together for the long term. Through the years the band has had many performances throughout Tacoma and Seattle WA. After playing together for this time, they have developed a solid and eclectic sound with which they've decided to finally begin recording. Their first EP, due out in late 2003, will be followed up by a regional tour.
