Lamar Harris is a trombonist with a unique style and sound. His influences flow from jazz, hip-hop, world music to classical themes and is incorporated into his music. He has recorded several projects with his latest being “The World of Man” for Alvin Ailey Dance Company’sSTILLchoreographed by Kirven Douthit-Boyd. Lamar also plays flugelhorn, tuba, keys and has been a featured artist at Jazz St. Louis, the Whitaker Festival, Taste of St. Louis, Riverfront Times Best of Awards, events for Centene, the St. Louis Symphony, St. Louis Zoo and has performed with Sheila E., Terence Blanchard, BeBe Winans, Fred Wesley, Sy Smith, Eric Roberson and many others. Lamar has been the musical director for The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis’ The Ant & The Grasshopper and Polkadots, Shakespeare in The Street’s Blow Winds, Metro Theatre Company’s, Wonderland, Alice’s Rock & Roll Adventure and musical consultant for New Jewish Theatre’s District Merchant. Lamar is currently working on new project with his 18 piece big band Lamar Harris’ Georgia Mae due out in 2020.
