For the first time MiMi Records opens the door to artists from around the world, but the reason is also special: 11/11/11. In the end, more than 50 minutes with field recordings, environments sounds and artists local sensations who lived one day as there is no equal. Tsuyoshi Nakamura moves in a dual world where the softness of velvet colored nostalgic dreams is interrupted by a sound sawing that feeds on that light and imprisions it in a labyrinth of voices, sometimes epic, sometimes soothing. The agressive darkness that embraces us is not so much cold as it is disturbing. More, the psychedelic, sci-fi, disturbance is added through glaciar metalic rhythms and other sound manipulations of static and acid distortion of diverse speed and cadence: from the...

isos offers a collection of 7 simplistic, beautiful and sad piano pieces. Haunting, contemplative and understandably. If you are a lover of Eric Satie, Debussy or perhaps even Phillip Glass you will find this worth a listen. This album is a testament to the fact that a truly wonderful song needs nothing else to make it special. Although not every song shines, every one of them has something unique about it. That makes this EP grand. Only one piano creates true emotion, and unique songs....

"comune" offers a collection of four meditative piano pieces so extraordinarily beautiful that you won’t believe it. This is dreamy and wistful music that somehow seems to be staring off into the distance, only occasionally waking with a start to the quirky calling of a wrinkle from the real world. These pieces just seem to unfold, taking the listener at once to a deeper, yet buoyant place within them and each leaves you with the anticipation of the next. And I hope this has left...

Noise from Portugal's one disc full of the imprint's most zoned-out, experimental music from the Land of CR7. You'll find here projects like ocp,Bird Paradigma, ps and Ogata Tetsuo which have released their music on MiMi Records, and a few tracks of people who've never released on this netlabel. Noise from Portugal is a totally indispensable and essential recording that will be continued with more two volumes in a near future.

Stereoboy is Luis Salgado. A musician from Tomar, who recently used to play in U-Clic. The only similarity between these Stereoboy and U-Clic, is that both projects play electronic music. However, U-Clic sounds more rock or industrial. In Stereoboy the thing is much more refined. Most of the time, Luis Salgado gives us soothing melodies, closer to bedroom pop. These are sounds that are dotted with some experimentation. Themes that sometimes carry us to our childhood and remember, old music...

Two songs of ambient noise music with some touches of industrial/experimental elements. Subtle mood changing atmospheres that echo like lonely transmissions through places of concentrated exchanges and lifes.

This project can be faced as a production with no middle-term - the choice is between minimum and maximum - with lots of noise and a brutality, roughness and texture.

Ogata Tetsuo (Mimi Records boss) and Norihito Kodama (aka NRYY) decide to make this little tribute to Koji Tano, better known as MSBR, one of the great musicians of the japanese "noise" scene who died in 31.07.2005.

GENTIL PROJECT Electronics, voice and toy’s instruments, without restrictions of style level. More than sound and art project, GENTILEZA is a statement of will. Considered to only do what it desires and…it desires indefinitely. This Project opens space to a poetical set of manifests and absurd narratives. It began in 1999, when two impatient children joined together with the goal of conquer the world. It presents you, a delicious milkshake of acid and dramatic noises, impolite and...

Noise isn't just a music genre, and it may not be genre at all. It may be a challenge against the impenetrability of sound itself. Noise Concrete is Junjio Ono's solo project (who is better know as Gang Up On Against's vocalist). In this project he uses voice and day to day sounds recorded from cassette. "60 days" is a trip in six spasms through the heart of an unknown war zone, where we are consumed in a demented symbiotic dance of the acidity and erosion of the human scream with the...

Musical apocalypse. Pure dark ambient. A track which is equal to a rainy and windy night. A bitter start, sinister, with brief rhythmic moments which reminds a twinkling of stars. The beginning of the storm. The melody keeps on going, the austerity remains. Changes of space half way through a celestial arrangement. After the storm, the bonanza. The initial noise remains but less relevant. The vacuum sucks it little by little and ends the combustion. The circle closes. The calm now prevails. Ant...

Tones, frequencies, blips and bleeps, but never notes, never melodies. The real beauty of the work of Yuichi Yoshigiwa lies in its ability to cause some of the deepest thoughts about the nature of sound or reality. Yuichi Yoshigiwa sculpts and transforms the data encoded in musical and non-musical structures - sometimes married to the dance floor, sometimes is a sea of digital cacophony.

Luis Antero has a passion for abstraction of natural and ethnographic contents. "Villages 4 vol. 3" is the penultimate registration of a series of 4 releases through 4 portuguese villages soundscapes. An excellent ethnographic record.
