The collection comprises documents, letters, telegrams and press clippings of Kathmandu-based bus line Nepal Transport Service that was established in 1959 and operated the first daily bus service to Amlekhgunj over Tribhuvan Rajpath, and local service to Patan. Language of material: English, Nepali and Nepal Bhasa.

Letters from Hindustan Auto Distributors in Kolkata, India about replacing the Meadows engines in the four Bedford buses of Nepal Transport Service with Perkins engines. The buses, all acquired between 1961 and 1962, broke down frequently and became unusable in a few short years, resulting in heavy losses from which the company never recovered.

Draft of tax appeal filed by Nepal Transport Service with the Office of the Chief District Officer, Kathmandu, arguing that its taxable income was being increased every year even though revenues were falling as its ageing buses became less efficient, maintenance costs rose progressively, and vehicle downtime became longer than before. The appeal was unsuccessful, and the company shut down the same year. Dated Kartik 14, 2023 BS (October 30, 1966).
