In a laboratory study, we will investigate whether social loafing is present in collective working compared to coactive working. Participants work with a human team partner. The performed task is similar to the work in an industrial context. Bags must be filled with cotton balls. In the coactive condition, the filled bags are placed in separate boxes (participants know that individual performance is identifiable). In the collective condition, the filled bags are placed in a shared box (participants think that individual performance is not identifiable).
