I have already been summoned by KPFA to explain this program and why it doesn't follow the language rules of radio. Three solid hours of Eminem music and Eminem talk, some of it edited for language and some not, which in contrast certainly points out how language censorship mutilates the music of Eminem to ruination if nothing else. With constant reminders of this "parental guidance" format, we cover Eminem's career, the media controversy surrounding his emergence, the 2001 Grammy...

Omer Edge begins the show from his remote location in the Lucky Muck swamp where he intends to document the nature of swamp gas and why UFO's are constantly mistaken for it. An audio memo from the Netweb's Retro-History Project lays out the basics of the reversible logic which the Netweb uses to "transinfiltrate" future informational adjustments into past programming and why. Then this show focuses on the most famous and best documented event in modern UFO history - The alleged saucer...

All Dylan in the 60s, including songs you may have heard but versions you probably haven't. Hounder of the hero, A.J. Weberman talks article wording with Bob on the phone, The Birch society keeps him off The Ed Sullivan Show, lots of interviewing, and all the songs are bootleg versions or unreleased. Also, a rare stop to Receptacle Programming to let this rare music play.

Over the Edge: Pipe Dream II Metallurgy, a long time caller to the show, somehow convinces Don to let him bring his excruciatingly untalented band "Pipe Dream" up to perform live on Over The Edge for one last time. Crosley Bendix is not amused, leading to a truly classic cultural review that kicks off the show. You may or may not want to hear the rest of this. In another 5 hour edition, this saga encompassing why there is no God continues. The power of the human mind's assumptions provide another extended program on the superstitious folly we call religion in all it's perplexing glory. Buck Logic returns with another Sci-Fi Aside, and plenty of songs throughout to punch the point home. What's it all about, Alfie?

3 hours of fiction vs. actuality from the world of robots, past and present. From the 50s' distopian roboservants, to the right around which corner where humans interface with automated tools? Robot toys - conditioning or just plain funny? Junior and Furby - Devil or the deep blue sea? Robot music by robot bands, carefully chopped by their own Fridatronics plug-in reproducement attachments. Receptacle speech patterns all registered as human.

Close your eyes - this is such stuff as which dreams are made of. It's not "Over the Wedge", it's "Fire Walk With Me", a five-hour journey through the scenes, voices, and music of David Lynch. Broadcast between Seasons 1 and 2, it's not just about Twin Peaks - but it's mostly about Twin Peaks. Thrown in are Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, Dune... characters and sounds pervade throughout the night of seedy underbellies, breathless love, and mysterious backwards declarations. Babs...

In a special 5 hour edition, we continue to probe the audio of multiple religious conceptions, not the least of which is monotheism, actually an exceedingly more absurd and unlikely concept than the polytheism it replaced in so many heads. And Buck Logic shows up with a Sci-Fi Aside explaining everything. Yes, it's all here, somewhere...

Over the Edge: Untitled Negativland Live Mix: "An Experiment of Sorts". Originally aired on July 6th, 1981 on KPFA radio. Featuring Negativland. Runtime 01:33:25. These early 80s OTE shows were recorded onto reel-to-reel recording tape. We couldn't afford to buy enough tape to record every show and keep the recordings, so Don would edit out the best bits and use the rest of the tape to record the following weeks show. "Over the Edge" becomes "The Haunted Edge" as Don speaks from beyond the grave, electrocuted by a toaster, and offers "five hours to kill together". This mid-July show moves into a world (and afterworld) of the macabre, creepy and just plain strange. Blended together are stories by Poe, Lovecraft, Dickens, and a remarkably obscure sci-fi-horror work ("Cancrogregina") from the 1950s by Italian writer Tommaso Landolfi. Orson Welles refuses to pick up a...

The third in a series of "Sex Dirt" shows done between Ô93 and Ô95, this one takes the cake. Almost all music from beginning to end, with several guests on instruments, the Weatherman, live and on a thousand tapes, drenched in club soda as usual, holds on to his lead vocalist position throughout. This one finally provides the remaining material for the "Sex Dirt" OTE CD, and is the best single Negativland performance on OTE I can remember. Hearing the unedited 3 hours here...

TV themes, 50s songs by 50s TV stars, some 50s TV history and commentary, and topping it off with a reflection from the present - one of Negativland's live performances of "Watchin TV" from the TrueFalse tour.

With special guests, Bob and Ray, we begin a month of radio shows which are all about radio and what else is and has been on it. However, as we launch, huge hums are heard and we spend the first hour and a half working on our equipment on air with the indespensable x-ray help of the Weatherman who assists us on the phone. Very amusing. The rest is full of also amusing non-engineering aspects of the medium. A technically unusual show.

A show built around stories and music about space kids. X-Minus One gives us two intermixed stories of kids taking over with supernatural powers and alien help. The fantastic Twink provides space music on toy instruments, a raising of the MoonRock pot provides a 4 year old Wang Tool memorial tribute to Bobby and Betty, two kids killed tragically in space during their unaccompanied trip to the moon, mashed space songs and mashed baby songs, and it all goes down strained peaches in space.

Until then, and beginning with a correction to last week's Sci-Fi Aside feature, I cover the whole God concept with more Bible history, more philosophical interrogation, and even the astronomical view of space and it's potential for life. If we can get all the way to Christmas with this, we may finally put a stop to that misguided holiday for good.
