Without having a festival timetable to conform to, Guided by Voices were free to play for as long as they damn well pleased at the Catalyst, and they took up that offer with two and a half hours of goofball indie rock that included an even half century of songs (23 albums represented this time). Great recording, two mics from the same taper. Track listing: [intro] The Very Second Not Behind the Fighter Jet Re-Develop Climbing a Ramp Tractor Rape Chain Haircut Sphinx To Keep an Area Cut-Out...

Seizing a unique opportunity with the dawning of the new millennium (I know I know, shut up, I wasn't alive  in 2000), the Japanese experimentalists decamped to perform on a beach at the southern island of Okinawa, playing through an hour-long spacey jam to a small audience in the early morning as the sun came up. Average recording.

The Melbourne show from Led Zeppelin's only Australian tour, performing at the outdoor tennis courts of Kooyong Stadium. EDIT: After research by livenirvana.com, it's been found that this is almost definitely not the first show from March 1987. The songs are more developed than a radio session from May, and Kurt's hair is similar in length to later photographs. Based on this evidence, it's guessed that this show takes place in summer 1987, but the exact date is unknown. This is , however, still the first recording of a performance in front of an audience. In late 1992, the Smashing Pumpkins gathered together in an identified Chicago studio to get down demos for some of the songs they'd been playing live that summer, as well as a few others that had been written. After a quick session, they delivered a cassette tape to the record label - Quiet and Other Songs: A Collection of Songs for Album II . Of the tape's twenty-two tracks, eleven would end up on Siamese Dream , while a few others would be restricted to B-sides or not released, either until...

Billy Corgan's productivity is infamous, and the sessions for Adore  are no different - in addition to the fifteen songs on the final album, there were another seventeen recorded in a full-band environment and left off, and countless more solo (mostly acoustic) demos at Billy's home studio. Back in 1979 someone under the guise 'FinkPloyd49' attended a Vangelis concert on the 19th of June at Pavillon De Paris. He recorded the entire event on a JVC-KD2B Cassette Recorder using TDK AD Type I tapes. It was then backed up onto a Sony MDS JE-520 MiniDisc Recorder via a Nakamichi Dragon Cassette Deck. I have attempted my very best at segueing all the tracks together (where the tape changes) and removing any un-even volume levels, ticks, clicks and drop-outs. I have also created artwork...

Shortly after the end of the Siamese Dream tour, Billy Corgan had a second go at making demos for the upcoming third Pumpkins album, this time with vocals. Many of the songs on this demo have since been officially released (either on the 2012 Mellon Collie reissue, or as official B-sides), but there's still a half dozen - including the otherwise unavailable 'Frantic Ab Groove' - that're still AOK to bootleg. Track listing: Stumbleine Here Is No Why Frantic Ab Groove Thirty-Three Ropey Lopey...

Three different MP4 versions of varying rebroadcasts of Nirvana's appearance on The Word , performing 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' with a manic crowd in front of them and psychedelic green screen effects behind. All have watermarks, unfortunately; go with the one that's kept in the subfolder.

My Bloody Valentine returning to Berlin, the city where they cut their teeth with bad post-punk records. By this point, though, they were an incredible shoegaze band, and so the setlist is a great one from the Isn't Anything  era. Track listing: Emptiness Inside You Never Should Cigarette in Your Bed Sueisfine Cupid Come Lose My Breath Nothing Much to Lose Thorn I Can See It (But I Can't Feel It) Soft as Snow (But Warm Inside) Feed Me With Your Kiss (When You Wake) You're Still in a Dream Slow...

A newly de-Sugarcubed Björk on her first solo tour, an FM broadcast from the Manchester Academy. It's a bouncy set of her off-beat art pop, including almost every song from Debut  (only 'Aeroplane' is missing), augmented by a B-side and one of the earliest performances of 'Army of Me'. In 2019, Autechre released seven live shows from 2016 and 2018 onto their website, but there was a hidden Easter egg link to this release, a three and a half hour mix of truncated versions of the sets. Interesting stuff that fits in with elseq  very well. Probably one to skip - there'd be better recordings from 1992, I just grabbed this one due to the nifty feature of 'Why Can't I Be You?' as closer. Fairly low-quality AUD cassette, featuring seven songs from Wish  and an assortment of past hits. Track listing: Tape [intro] Open High Pictures of You Lullaby Just Like Heaven Fascination Street A Night Like This Trust The Walk Let's Go to Bed Friday I'm in Love In Between Days From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea Never Enough Cut End Primary Three...

Show Notes A return to the home city of the band following two arena shows in June 1992. The first headline stadium show by Def Leppard in the UK and a triumphant hometown show. Following on from their biggest arena tour in 1992 this was the peak of the bands popularity in the UK. The show included the first concert performance of forthcoming single 'Two Steps Behind'. The last show in the UK to feature guitar solos spots by Phil and Vivian. The show was filmed in full but a 1 hour highlights...

Over two decades into their career, Placebo are continuing to carve out a unique niche for themselves; while a lot of bands sound kind of like them, nobody manages to scratch the same itch that they've been doing for millions of fans worldwide. The reputation has been earned not only through dozens of catchy and emotional songs, diving into dream pop and electronic rock as they've expanded a repertoire, but also an ability to perform amazing live shows that have gotten steadily more creative...
