Anarchist analyses of the G8 protests in Genoa with reflections on true and false opposition to global capitalism
Topics: Eurasia, Anarchism, Globalization
The term industrial revolution, commonly used to describe ther period between 1750 and 1850, is a pure bourgeois lie, symmetrical to the lie about the political revolution. It does not include the negative and flows from a vision of history as uniquely the history of technological progress. Here the enemy deals a double blow, legitimizing the existence of managers and hierarchy as unavoidable technical necessities, and imposing a mechanical conception of progress, which is considered a positive...

The WRL's Youth and Counter Militarism Project, based in New York City, provides youth with the resources and training necessary to agitate against military recruitment in their schools and communities. Our long term goal is to bring youth organizers and young veterans together to help build a unified, national anti-war movement. To help accomplish this, we produce materials, conduct traiings, and work in a number of national coalitions.

This 'zine really does not contain as much as I would like it to; However, it's better short than stupid. BAsically I am just writing about my beliefs & supporting them. I want to make people aware of problems so they can avoid being a part of them. I am not looking to change minds (your mind is not my responsibility,) but to encourage thinking. Perhaps even to inspire people to get involved with their local scenes. Which is crucial here in Wichita.

What follow are pieces from our monthly Hindi language publication Faridabad Majdoor Samachar. Given that accumulated labour (machines, knowledge, skills) has the capacity to make living labour productive/more productive, there is a position which advocates the elimination of human suffering and creation of a humane society through a qualitative leap in accumulated labour by breaking the bonds that hinder accumulation.

Benjamin R. Tucker on John Babcock, Jr's Saves to Duty: "A unique addition to the pamphlet literature of Anarchism in that it assails the morality superstition as the foundation of the various schemes for the exploitation of mankind. Max Stirner himself does not expound the doctrine of Egoism in bolder fashion."-In Charles A. Dana, Proudhon and the Bank of the People.

Modern Anarcho-Syndicalism is a direct continuation of those social aspirations which took shape in the bosom of the First International and which were best understood and most strongly held by the libertarian wing of the great workers' alliance. Its present day representatives are the federations in the different countries of the revived international Workingmen's Association of 1922, the most important of which is the powerful Federation of Labour (Confederacion National de Trabajo) in Spain....

I wrote this zine when I realized that many of my fellow anarchists and radicals did not share the core values and beliefs about sexual assault that I thought we did. I thought it was a part of anarchist basic training: hate cops, believe the survivor, smash the state, hold assaulters accountable. Somewhere, a disconnect has occurred.

This squatter state maintains it's power through mental and physical violence towards any individuals who oppose it. The bullet that pierced Alexis's heart was not a random bullet shot from a cop's gun to the body of an 'indocile' kid. It was the choice of the state to violently impose submission and order to the millieus and movements that resist its decisions. A choice that meant to threaten everybody who wants to resist the new arrangements made by the bosses in work, social security, public health, education, etc.

This text first appeared in a special anti-nuclear issue of Fifth Estate magazine on April 8, 1979. It was written earlier in that year just after an accident at Three Mile Island nuclear power plant in eastern Pennsylavania. As news of the accident spread, official messages insisted, "There is no need to overrreact, the situation is stable, the leaders have everything under control," but eventually people living near the plant ahd to be evacuated. Here Fredy reminds us how the...

A one-shot publication of social reconnaissance. It seems more and more obvious that the present social organization does not try to be loved for its results, but rather solely on the basis of its enemies. If the subjects of this totalitarian democracy accept what exists, it is only from fear of the worse things that could happen.

The US led war in Iraq has been raging for early six years, wars of occupation for centuries before that. While the current US anti-war movement continues to utilize public vigils and aims at portraying the truth to those in power, we find one thing to remain clear: those in power have a concrete understanding of their role in a global military industrial complex.

Anti-globalization activists understand that sympathetic and mutually beneficial global ties are good. But we want social and global ties to advance universal equity, solidarity, diversity, and self-management, not to subjugate ever-wider populations to an elite minority. We want to globalize equity not poverty, solidarity not anti-sociality, diversity not conformity, democracy not subordination, and ecological balance not suicidal rapaciousness.
