Plimoth Patuxet Museums’ newly restored Fuller Shallop made a historic journey down the eastern shoreline of Massachusetts in June 2021. She was launched from Lowell’s Boat Shop in Amesbury, Massachusetts whose expert boat builders and young apprentices partnered with the Museum on this important restoration project. She then sailed to her home berth in Plymouth Harbor, making several port stops along the way for public viewings and demonstration. One port stop on her journey was Gloucester, where she was hosted by our friends at Maritime Gloucester. We are delighted to share highlights of that visit with you, and hope to see you in Plymouth where the shallop resides next to Mayflower II. Experiencing history through the shallop gives us an appreciation for her timeless craftsmanship as well as the fortitude, courage, and adventure reflected in her stories.
