Construction of an acoustic cabinet, to soundproof a 3D printer. The printer is mounted on a 55 × 55 cm table and screwed in to avoid possible vibrations during printing. The table is reinforced with a wooden board at the back, and a shelf is placed to store the rolls of filament, tools and accessories. The printer is powered through a small UPS, and controlled on and off by a wireless switch, connected by WiFi. A wireless video camera is also added, to control remote printing jobs and to turn off the printer when they finish or if there is a problem. The cabin is built with 5 cms thick polystyrene panels and acoustically insulated with D160 multi-insulation, 2 cms. of thickness.
