john, you first. the "washington post" reporting tonight that steve bannon is behind the scenes pitching this plan to cripple the mueller investigation by firing rod rosenstein. i mean, this is on top of our reporting that the president is considering firing him, himself. what's your reaction? >> my reaction was he's gone very public with what sounds an awful lot like a conspiracy to obstruct justice. when you read the details of what he is talking about, that's exactly what he's planning to do and trying to encourage the white house to do. and i think he should get himself either a lawyer or zip his lip real quickly. >> steve bannon should? >> yes. >> laura, you're agreeing. >> you know, i am. the reason so is because first of all, he was persona non grata when he left the white house and shortly thereafter. it seems like he's trying to elicit the good graces once again by talking about things the president seems to already wants to do. the reason he's been advised against talking about donald trump,

john, we'll begin with you. this is a clear evolution of the president's tone, the president willing to call the president out. i guess now what comes in the form of action? >> there is some schizophrenia in the form of the president's rhetoric and his actions. the actions in some ways have been a lot tougher than president obama. in particular, lethal aid to ukraine. what's tougher than that? i would expect something. >> the administration has done something, whether it's the pentagon or the sanctions from the department, but you're right, the president's actions have gotten progressively tougher. this is just moments ago the president tweeted out the first time by name he's called putin a bad actor and he was in a cabinet meeting just moments ago. does putin bear responsibility for this latest chemical weapons attack? >> does putin bear responsibility? >> he may, yeah. he may. if he does, it's going to be very tough. everybody is going to pay a price. he will, everybody will. >> again, the body language, the c

on the other side, john, paul's 100% right. you've got cohen coming in saying, look, the government storm troopers came in and took all of this attorney/client privileged information and that showed you how bad the government is and then you've got the judge in the middle trying to decide what documents, what information goes to -- can go to cohen and what can go to the government? >> we'll ask about the journalistic questions and i put a small j on that later in quotation marks. let me stick with the law here and what happened in court yesterday. guy, first to you, who got more out of this from judge kimba wood. yes, the cohen team got delay, and the president's team got access to the documents ultimately but kimba wood in no way shut down this investigation or the use of this information? >> not at all. what's going to happen here, what play out and you can see sort of with the judge's ruling, judge wood's ruling, she's sort of move in this way, she asked both sides to submit names for a special master. so what i see happenin
