we were also together in india at the 50th anniversary of king's visit to india. i can remember john being so happy to be in the presence of gandhi's legacy. that's one of the things that was characteristic of our movement. we went back and we read gandhi and we read w.e.b. debois. i would hope people would go back and read john lewis's book, which i think was "good trouble" and read the books of c.t. vivian because we have tried to lay a foundation for this generation to carry on and i must say that they're doing wonderfully well, spectacular. but when you add the human rights problems to the problems of the coronavirus and climate change, there's a heavy burden waiting for this coming generation. so they really have to be prepared for it. but this is -- black lives matter was a wonderful start, especially because it wasn't just black lives. john also put a lot of time in creating the black jewish coalition here in atlanta when the temple was bombed shortly after some of the incidents that occurred here. and we realized that it's not just black lives that matter
