i'm not an expert in the history of african americans in north carolina. my comments are a little broader, but i was thinking very deeply to brother mckinney's questions and comments that really got me réz■a wf stuff. makes me want to go back to read the book myself. in the meticulously well researched book, the multi faceted life as a point of departure for exploring the possibilities of what black leadership entailed in the jim crow -- mainly north carolina and more specifically in durham. when first scholarship contributes to several overlapping historiography's and historical sub fields that professor mckinney pointed out, including black business history, african american history in north carolina, african american biography, like political history. history of the black south and the history of the civil rights movement. i thoroughly enjoyed winford's book. when i would classify as being and intellectual and political biography of wheeler. a man who wore many different hats. he was a president of a black band. an indicator. a politician and power -
