. >> well, here at sfo on friday and around the bay area. more flight cancellations as covid-19 wreaks havoc on staffing at multiple airlines. now, according to flightaware, dot com nationwide on friday. there were 6500 delayed flights and more than 2800 cancellations. jetblue united delta. pretty much all airlines canceling flights problems caused by covid-19 now here in the bay area at sfo. there were 55 cancellations on friday. 51 delays san jose. 9 canceled flights 26 delays in oakland. there were 6 cancellations and 15 delays. also here at sfo at the international terminal. covid-19 testing is required for many international flights that has resulted in long line of people waiting to get tested before they can get on their airplanes. now, if you're headed out to the airports over the next couple of days. keep in mind that we are expecting more cancellations. this problem is going to get worse before it gets better. call ahead. check with your airline to make sure that your flight it's still leaving on time. but for now t sfo, charles cl

right now most of the bay area down at d 2, which is severe and still extreme, the area in red across potions of the east bay. what's helped us out obviously has been the wet winter in the northern california area. also the sierra snow pack, which is off to a record start since october 1st. closer to home here in the bay area, we've had rain totals from san francisco northward about 200% of average. so that is finding its way now down into our reservoir systems, especially up toward marin. east bay reservoirs 87%. but notice the south bay. even lexington at 48.8 is a 25-foot rise since december 1st. so as the rain season moves forward, january is the biggest month for rain and sierra snow. so the important thing here is while we're off to this great start, three more months to go, including the snow pack, with average to slightly above average rain and snow, that droud picture could continue to unwind as we approach spring. back to you. >> okay. >>> december's record rain has charged up the bay area's reservoirs. but water managers say our water supply is better but still not great. a

not much has fallen in the south bay, the rest of the bay area and peninsula, parts of the east bay and into the northbay has some good rain as you'll see in a minute. right now, you can see moving through half moon bay, north of 45 off of skyline boulevard, good cells are ripping through, rainfall on the last 24 hours shows as much as an inch in canfield which always gets a lot of rain. half moon bay, that's not bad but half moon bay, getting a little bit in the next hour or two. dublin had almost half an inch of rain, that low pressure is now spinning rate over the bay area. kicking in linden as it does the rain will take the threat of showers with it by midnight tonight. we have a couple more hours of rainy weather for the bay area then cleared out from north to south. only in for a few days. the future kathy can see it all happening, this is by 10:00 tonight. still pretty good cloud cover, but as we get toward sunrise tomorrow morning, we will roll this ahead to 6:00 a.m. on thursday morning. it does not give clear yet, we still have fog around parts of the bay area. thursday starts

that is not the case in the bay area right now. this three bedroom home in oakland sold for almost 1.3 million dollars over asking, just yesterday. in an interview on cbsn bay area, gianna franco talks to is a low economist about the factors. such a competitive market. >> you have these low interest rates, and then the demand in the market these days, but obviously not a lot of homes are out there and available for people looking to purchase. >> definitely. you know, with low inventory, we just don't have enough homes on the market and that has been a problem for the last decade. at the end of the great recession, builders stopped building homes and never picked back up to the level they were before. now, we have millennial's coming into the market trying to buy first homes, we have a lot of boomers who are downsizing, and we have all these people in the market at once and there is not enough supply to get there. we need to work on adding new inventory as well as focusing on getting more existing homes on the market. >>> you can ca

all in all around much of the bay area. now we're going to time out your storm for as we head through the night tonight. skies stay mostly clear tomorrow. well, no, some clouds coming. but staying dry by 9 o'clock in the evening. you start to see the rain beginning to develop in northern california, then overnight. tomorrow night looks like sunday morning that storm system moves in that things really get going once the storm starts this what we call that atmospheric river. it is going to pump a tremendous amount of rain. the heaviest starting out in the north bay. that's around 3 o'clock in the morning or so and then sliding into the cross. the rest, the bay area as we head through the day on sunday. i think taking the focus now more little further to the south into the santa cruz mountains. you're going to see some very heavy rainfall. i by the time we're done with this. we may be talking about 7, maybe 10 inches of rain across the santa cruz mountains. a lot of rain around the rest, the bay area to maybe 2, maybe 3 inches
