pompeo followed by a session with three cohosts of today's event and international religious freedom sam brownback deputy director for the iran action group might spell and assistant secretary for democracy human rights and labor robert estero. during the listening session we have this morning we heard from members of the iranian diaspora but how we can continue to stand with the iranian people by sharing stories, supporting their voices in championing their rights. today we will share what we heard from them and we will dig deeper into the issue. we will also have an opportunity to hear from three survivors who have first-hand experience of the iranian regime oppression. i would like to introduce assistant secretary for democracy human rights and labor robert estero. as he previously served a six year term as commissioner of the u.s. commission on civil rights. he has worked on a 15 year interfaith dialogue in united states and in the middle east. he is a passion for the people of iran and defending their rights. my friend tom -- a row. washington lobbyists, to help take apart the growing industry in kansas, and of course the backing for sam brownback and this sort of vision of the structure was very involved in that. i think that there is a the influence on kansas politics is tremendous. it's huge. i have kind of a political question. >> you are at the right place. >> that's for sure. >> the views between trump and koch, do you feel like that would perhaps cause a schism or even a civil war between say the economic nationalists were the religious rights and koch righth libertarian philosophy that that would cause a three-way scroll or whatever within the right-wing of the republican party? is that' that something that coo beyond and get into the bowels of the republican party? >> yes. and the way that i describe it is right now a lot of the political chapters in this book but notably in basements. the staff offices of the senate building and where the machinery works there is a fight going on down there for the control of the steering wheel of the republican party. and it is a tense and constant back and forth. they wia win-win ce
