Hi Charles,

Sharp eyes! The user items are a way for us to store info related to user accounts without relying on a database. We are transferring information about user bookmarks into those items.

Thanks for the quick reply Alexis. I'm not sure I really understand your answer, but I blindly trust that this activity will not end up giving nosy snoops in the general public easy access to my archive library card.

Ha! I appreciate the trust! But just to reassure you further, the data in user items is not readable by the general public so the information can be kept private. (However, I should probably remind you that bookmarks are actually already public through the existing interface.)
