I think it was Billy Joel that said, "'The good ole days weren't
always good, and tomorrow ain't as bad as it seems". Life goes on and we must adapt, or die.

And I believe it was the great modern philosopher Bon Jovi who said, "The more things change, the more they stay the same.

"Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose"
- Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr

But hey, it's French, so it doesn't count, eh skies?

It would, but as it turns out even French quotes can surrender.

I stink, therefore la faim?

Er, no, that's no it...

Interlude: I always recall in HS French, a real dope would mumble a reply, and half time be complimented..."Yes, young Tell, can you say '21'?" to which "un...van...un...umm" would usually suffice.

I always liked the motto of the French Navy: "To the water, it is time!" or, in French, "A l'eau, c'est l'heure!"

(say it out loud for best effect)

Man, I don't have the first clue what I was doing in 2007 (maybe because I was drinking too) but I'm sure there are certain parties I could contact who'd be more than happy to tell me, sparing none of the embarrassing details!

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be...

But by heavens it's good to have you back, my friend.

I, too, often find myself looking back fondly at a time when nostalgia actually meant something.

Wait a minute...are we back to logical fallacies?

Or as Groucho possibly said: "Why should I care about posterity? What's posterity ever done for me?"

And believe me, I'm keeping well away from your posterity.

I've often said I'd like nothing more than to leave this place in my rear-view mirror...but the I realized that's what I've been doing for many years. No surprises, that's my motto.
