1. the first image will be on the right.
2. for single page view add this metadata pair in the information: bookreader-defaults=mode/1up
3. to assign a title page see: "How do I change the title page in the flip book?" at https://help.archive.org/hc/en-us/articles/360016638171-Books-and-Texts-Tips-Troubleshooting-

Thanks so much Jeff for this information.
#2 works perfectly.
#3 I tried just now. It is rather cumbersome. The scandata.xml file had no text "Title" at all within it, but I changed the appropriate page anyway from "Normal" to "Title". In the meantime it has been doing a very long "task:derive" and the viewer doesn't load...
As for #1, I'm surprised that there is no option for this. Sometimes the first image of a manuscript or book is of the *reverse* side of a folio (there may be no text on the first side). When this is the case, if the first image is always on the same side, then it causes all the pages of the book to appear incorrectly in "Two-page view".

Regarding #3 "...rather cumbersome."

YES!... agree, I've just posted politely asking for a Title-page manual-input field on the upload page, or that they tweak the automated system to perform more accurately. Others say the same thing about title-page issues (and have for several years), thus it seems a fix is long overdue.
