We had purchased a number of red boxes from Capricorn Tech over the last few years, but have been told that they are no longer selling them.

We've been very happy with the boxes and the case design fits our needs perfectly. We are building large scale storage systems for long term free digital libraries in remote locations in SE Asia which is based on a JBOD/MAID architecture.

It was mentioned in this forum a good few years ago that the CAD files would be made available for the petabox.

If the boxes are no longer available for sale, would it be possible to release the CAD files as an open Hardware Design?

Thanks

Maybe try the design from Backblaze

We are making them in the EU at http://ukblazers.com

I love the Backblaze design and we are working on our own variation for very large archive sites. But a lot of the organizations we are talking to don't need 65GB of storage, and even if they do the petabox design is well suited to use for master nodes which index and process indexes...

Obviously that should be TB, not GB :)

Any word? I would say that there are a few of us in this world that are interested.

Has anyone had any luck with their backblaze project?

thattommyhall - looks like you are moving right along on your project - any hints?
