Thanks for the thought, but I tried many times since my original post and again today to view a movie and apparently I am not the only one this is happening to - because all reviewers of the new feature film WOMAN WHO CAME BACK all wrote the same problem exists. The spitting and stalling of the movies seems to happen whether you try to view by streaming OR by downloading - it does not seem to matter what you movie you try view or by what method.

did anyone ever explain or find a solution to this? i am having the same problems? the movies are worthless to view.

i have had no problems before when i was downloading these last year. i recently returned to the archive and now i have the "stop and have an earthquake" syndrome.

No. I got some lame ass reply from the archive telling me they'd "look into it". Yeah, right - none of the movies I EVER reported got fixed for "spitting" or MISSING ENDINGS! I stopped even trying to bother to watch any movies here. Go to movieflix, watchfilms, or tesla, they have lots of the same free movies that actually play.

Hm, I have downloaded and then played hundreds of movies in the last couple months and have not had consistent problems (using ~3 different Win XP SP2 with VLC, WMP, Quicktime and/or Realplayer depending on movie type). Do you have url(s) for particularly problem items?

Sorry, No... I would have to list the URL of every film in the Feature Film archive. I am just so disappointed I can not utilize the Archive movies any more regardless of streaming or downloading. BTW, what happened to the feature film: Woman who came back? The reviews for that described the same issue, now the film is not present in the archive.

The specific one you mention is odd! I only see a fresh copy in Open Sources Movies:
