I feel rather guilty that my post to "lighten up" pushed orchiddoctor over the edge (as his response to me was his last post)

Should have said "light up"

I'd bet he had a friend that went missing or something like that and I hit a very sore spot. My NY resolution is to stick to GD themes here and to avoid the slippery slope of sex, politics and religion

If someone decides to go off in a hissy fit because their feathers have been ruffled I really don't see that that's your fault, Charlie. You have no cause to feel guilty at all.

Ha--I know that feeling! But Robthe is right. I just don't think this was a clear example of crossing the line (I know, who am I to say...but as self appointed prime minister of polite forum posting behavior, I like to think I can see em when I see em).

You are right, Charlie, that sometimes it is tough to know what hidden demons (too strong a term, no doubt) might lurk in the minds of our friends here that in person we could quickly sort out when we caught the reaction our comment engendered, but we just don't have that opportunity in etherspace, as Robthe said in the thread a few weeks back on these interactions and the hurt feelings that occur.

Hang in there my friend. It'll pass.

Right. Again.
