Been making caged balls in regular polyhedra. Just a fun doodad. The cage has triangular shaped beams making up a hexahedron, or cube. The ball is built inside. Separate ball & hex files allow you to make it in two colors if your printer supports it. However, it may be possible to make the ball first, then make the hexahedron, pausing the job as it gets taller than the ball and insert it before finishing the hexahedron job.

The clip on my treadmill broke and I designed a different one. It seems to work well. No support material is required. (To minimize stress and maximize life, the part that bends was designed to have constant stress over its length rather than having a high stress at the part farthest from the max deflection.)

I searched on Google to see if there were equations for the shape of an egg. In doing so I learned that a point in the middle of a connecting rod traces out an egg shape. I then derived an equation and entered it as a parametric curve in SolidWorks. This was fun for me since I like math. Anyway, here's another reward I'll give out to students who do their Bible memorization work. The photo is of a 1" tall egg I printed. The model is designed to only need a little support material on the...

My wife used clip art similar to this (https://openclipart.org/detail/21285/valentine-red-maori-heart) to use for tickets to a Valentine's day lunch. Between this and a 3D-printable heart from Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:18858), I combined the two ideas to get this design. They printed well and look pretty good standing up.

At it's root, it's simply a fish shape with the Greek word for fish written inside. However, for Christians this has added meaning because it represents perhaps the first creed (statement of faith) of the Christian church. Many of the apostles were fishermen, and ΙΧΘΥΣ stands for: Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) χριστός (Christ) Θεοῦ (God's) Ὑιός (Son) Σωτήρ (Savior) With the attached excel (or PDF) file, I've been printing twelve 2 1/8" x 3 7/16" cards 2-sided on...

I designed a modular cryptex that can be printed one ring at a time with no support material such that you can glue together as many segments as you want. The cryptex in the photo is six letters long, but it could just as well be four or ten. The rings are designed with detents to click from one character to the next and stay in place while you adjust the next ring and enter the full code. Character rings snap in place over the lock rings, so once you have the puzzle solved, you can remove them...

Wanted to create something that combined the guiding star of Epiphany with a cross. It's a reminder of what my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ came to earth to do - enlighten with the truth and die for my sin, giving the gift of eternal life. This tree-topper version shouldn't require any support material to make, but includes slots for "twisties" to tie the cross to a top branch. I printed it on my Bukobot V2 duo diagonally so a 10" long part like this would fit.

I hate having to twist the bigger wrenches to get to the smaller ones, so I designed my own. Here are the features: 1. You can get immediately to any hex wrench you want 2. You can hang the holder on the wall 3. Hex wrench size is clearly marked 4. Hex wrenches snap into place so they won't fall out 5. The inch holder handles .050, 1/16, 5/64, 3/32, 7/64, 1/8, 9/64, 5/32, 3/16, 7/32, 1/4, 5/16 & 3/8 6. The millimeter holder handles 1.27, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 9,...

My wife wanted to do an escape room fundraiser & my daughter found plans to make a cryptex. I was too lazy to use PVC, screws, hole saws, and wood, so I designed one for the 3D printer. My printer was printing a bit "large" so I added more clearance than it really needs so that I wouldn't have to sand it as much. I also designed it to not require support material. It's pretty simple. Just keep adding as many rings, locks, and inserts as you want letters, and you should be good to...

This mechanism style once turned watch displays with a constantly rotating drive wheel and a driven "spider" that paused in one location and turned the display to the next position. This particular design is made especially for 3D printing on hobby printers since it requires no support material. All parts have a flat bottom and no overhang.

This is one of the symbols used to represent the Christian belief in a Triune God - one God in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The circles represent that each person of the trinity is eternal. Interlocking circles show that they have common attributes yet still remain as individual personages. The triangle emphasizes the unity of the one true God in three persons.

The grandkids don't know how to push the softsoap dispenser down part way, so to save soap, I designed this stopper to snap around the softsoap stem. Just print two of them and snap it around the thread, then screw it towards the top as shown in the picture. I don't like how the typical hex wrench holder makes you turn the wrenches in order to get the one underneath it out. Here's a first attempt at a design where all wrenches are accessible at the same time. My printer wasn't printing so well when I made it, but I was able to get the wrenches in and they were accessible. Unfortunately, the markings I created in the STL file for the wrench sizes didn't come out, so I had to mark the sizes manually.

I did my best to duplicate the genius of Luke Tansell, recreating https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1763518 in my own CAD software. Improvements include: * My granddaughters tended to break off the "spoon" end, so I beefed it up * I believe my version also has less trouble breaking it loose and freeing the moving parts after printing * This version includes a little ball to launch with the catapult
