This experiment follows up on three other experiments introducing a response time Concealed Information Test (RT-CIT) to detect concealed knowledge of a language. This experiment serves primarily to test the validity of the language detection with native speakers of a language: participants will be Hungarian natives or Polish natives, and all participants will be tested for both Hungarian and Polish.

The Response Time Concealed Information Test (RT-CIT) can reveal that a person recognizes a relevant item (probe) among other, irrelevant items, based on slower responding to the probe compared to the irrelevant items. Thereby, if this person is concealing knowledge about the relevance of this item (e.g., recognizing it as a murder weapon), this deception can be unveiled. In the present paper, we examine the impact of a speed versus accuracy instruction: Examinees are either presented with...

Same as in the preceding analysis (https://osf.io/gsk89), we want to see whether we can improve the diagnostic efficiency of the response time Concealed Information Test (RT-CIT) using machine-learning. In the present new analysis, we will include, apart from mean and accuracy, also SDs per item types, and we will not include any pre-calculated differences between item types.

This experiment aims to optimize the use of filler items in the response time Concealed Information Test (RT-CIT). Namely, we want to see (a) how verbal and nonverbal fillers (or their mix) compare to each other, and (b) whether nontarget-side fillers are necessary at all. At the same time, the experiment aims to test how well the RT-CIT works in a relatively realistic cybercrime scenario.

This is a third experiment that aims to optimize the use of filler items in the response time Concealed Information Test (RT-CIT). Here, we want to (a) conceptually replicate the increase in probe-control differences when showing a greater variety of target-side fillers, and (b) see whether it matters if fillers are more specific to the probe (self-related words in case of autobiographical details) as opposed to generic that could apply to any sort of probes (related to relevance, recognition).

This is a second experiment that aims to optimize the use of filler items in the response time Concealed Information Test (RT-CIT). Here, we want to see whether probe-control differences can be increased by (a) lowering the proportion of target-side items, and/or (b) showing a greater variety of target-side fillers.
