We promote a study of D-branes of type IIB string on the AdS_5 x S^5 background. We briefly review a construction of N=2 supersymmetric U(N) gauge model in which rigid N=2 supersymmetry is spontaneously broken to N=1. This model generalizes the abelian model considered by Antoniadis, Patouche and Taylor. We discuss the conditions on the vacua of the model with partial supersymmetry breaking.

We study non-relativistic limits of the N=6 Chern-Simons-Matter theory that arises as a low-energy limit of the M2-brane gauge theory with background flux. The model admits several different non-relativistic limits and we find that the maximal supersymmetry we construct has 14 components of supercharges, which is a novel example of non-relativistic superconformal algebra in (1+2) dimension. We also investigate the other limits that realize less supersymmetries.

We study the spectrum of the scalar Laplacian on the five-dimensional toric Sasaki-Einstein manifolds Y^{p,q}. It has been shown that there is a sequential embedding structure in a $w_N$\ string theory based on a linearized $W_N$\ algebra. It is shown that the N-extended super $w_n$\ string can be obtained as a special class of vacua of both the N-extended super $w_{n+1}$\ string and the (N+1)-extended super $w_n$\ string. We consider Kerr-AdS black holes with equal angular momenta in arbitrary odd spacetime dimensions \ge 5.
