The FBI paid informants and recruited people to kidnap the governor of Michigan in 2020 (an election year). The supposed ringleader of the plot was a homeless man. FBI agents then busted this operation and declared victory over a supposed plot by supporters of President Trump to kidnap a Democrat governor. This was of course then passed off to the news media who framed Trump and his supporters as dangerous terrorists.
