For my core class, we are doing a passion project, and for my project, I chose to create a low-budget 3D printer. For those who can't tell by the models, as of now it is only a moc-up, as the motors and programming will come at a much later date. For now, though, parts such as the belts are connected using a piece of filament. (1.75 mm or you could use a wire). Most parts are also designed to fit using screw-in-place washers, which are included in the files. If you print this, please post a...

Today I am introducing the filament calibration cylinder. Calibrate your filament for more precise prints. This calibration test will allow you test and calibrate important settings such as flow compensation, cooling, and horizontal expansion. This test prints quickly and makes calibrating your filament and print fun. Print the cylinder at 0% infill, 3 walls and use cooling at 100%. Your 3D Printer will be happy you calibrated it. See it in action here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJdj-EQCM7c

Remixed the PETG tower by krpavlu for my FA3 via FlashPrint. I always seem to get strange results when using files edited by other software so figured I would share it. I brought in the STL and then exported as a .g file. Opened with VS Code and inserted the "M104 SXXX T0" calls before the start of the new blocks. Works great. Ignore the STL in this post as Thingiverse requires it. Use the G-CODE file!

This is a rough footprint of AJ27-TIE charging module for use in designing various cases. I attempted to make it as accurate as I can, to include the holes, but you should double check the layout for yourself. There maybe some differences depending on the manufacturer who made the module. Two different file options one has a USB connector which is a pre-made connector not exactly the same as the one that comes on this module. For my use I will just be using the cube for designing a bracket. Let...

I know there's already plenty of other designs out there, but they were all a bit too big and fancy for my tastes, I wanted something small and simple that would print out nice and quick - less than 10 minutes. These are 15mm x 30mm, just big enough to get a "flavour" of the colour. There's a 5mm hole so they can be threaded on to a bit of string or whatever. I keep them on a "12cm Wire Keychain Cable" (often used for luggage tags), cheap and easy to buy from the likes of...

This is a test I threw together for a print-in-place project I am working on. It stands 1 inch tall, is about 2.5 inches wide, and has a range of internal distances. (.005,.01,.012,.015,.019,.022). .01-.019 are missing 0's at the beginning, my apologies. At 20% infill and 65mm/s, this takes about 4.5 hours. It features a range of internal spacings and features arms to help free prints if need be, except for the middle which should just spin freely. This test also has .008in chamfers on the...

This is a super quick, super low filament usage Test Print which you can/should use to dial in and adjust the corners for perfect leveling. My recommended steps: 1) measure the x-axis gantry on both sides (since it is dual-z steppers) to ensure it is perfectly level to the frame. Disable the steppers and adjust as necessary. 2) manually level with a piece of paper on all 4 corners, then auto-level (if you have a CRTouch/BLTouch) and save to eeprom. 3) use the attached .STL file (super quick,...

Literally just my car test model flipped upside down (see remix source). Use it to calibrate supports. Overhang is 1mm thick and long enough that sagging should readily occur. For quickest results with the least amount of filament used, print with zero infill, one perimeter, and only enough shells to make the 1mm stretch fully solid (three shells for 0.2mm layer heights, two shells for 0.25 layer heights). Should print just fine with those settings.
