This is an adapter for 3M half-mask and full-mask respirators with the standard "bayonet" style connector. This allows you to use the 5n11 style replacement filter media instead of the expensive and hard to find cartridge style. My HomeDepot/Lowes used to carry cartridge filters for my MSA's dust masks. Now they seem to only carry the 3M brand. This allows you to use the 3M style cartridge/filter on an MSA mask. Just take apart the filter that it comes with the MSA mask: (P100) Micro Low-Profile. I used needle nose pliers to remove the insert that holds the paper filter in place. Print the adapter, and silicone it into the spot where you removed the original filter. Printing with supports is not required but will help...

EDIT: 4/8/20 I have added 3 remixed mask adapter files. V4a, (adds CPAP sized external tube and makes easier to print) 4b (same as 4a and opens up interior to pipe air to side chutes that service the mouth portion of my mask), and 5 (all of the above and further widens the side chute area). I got my digital calipers and meticulously measured the filter lock on a 3M respirator that uses the 3M 6001 Filter. This has not been tested but I would be surprised if it doesnt work. I also included a little filter symbol on the outside edge to indicate which way the filter would be pointing. Feel free to incorporate this into your own respirator designs. I designed this knowing I would print it on my resin printer, so print it on something else at your own risk.

All models are meant for fast printing. May still optimize more later. All use same filter size and filter cover that just snaps into place. Just cut filters to same size as the mounts. Place filter in place and press cover into place. Filter should be same size as the mount and no bigger. Cover should keep filter in place. I’m using a 3M Virus level home filter that I cut apart to make my own filters. Any valid filter can be used. Choose a cover that matches your compressed filter thickness....
