I saw a great 123D Catch scan and wanted to make it 3D printable. I deleted the surroundings and made it solid, cut a flat base and added a hole in the back that supports a screw or nail so it can hang on the wall. I once again edited the file with MeshMixer by deleting a lot of noise objects, sculpting/editing parts (like the legs that were connected), resizing and plane cutting a flat base. I found a nice dragon head 3D scan by Glen Newman: http://www.123dapp.com/catch/dragon-head-clay/4983502 The scan was of only one side of the head so I decided to try the mirror option in MeshMixer - worked great! I duplicated the mesh and stitched the two halves, sculpted some parts of the head and added a neck. I merged the head with a trophy plate and added holes to it so it can be mounted to a wall. This a 3D scanned model of a (probably) Mayan sculpture. I found it at 123D Catch models, there wasn't much info but I guess it's from the Advanced Visualization Center from the University of South Florida. Summary I couldn't believe the quality of this 3D scan (123D Catch) of a gargoyle statue so I just had to make it 3D printable. I edited the scanned mesh with MeshMixer (fantastic free program: http://www.meshmixer.com) by cutting a flat base and deleting noise objects. I found a nice 3D scan of a Vietnamese bas-relief of a tiger. 123D Catch scans aren't 3D printable because they are surfaces, no solids - so I put in some work to make this printable. I made the surface solid by adding a frame around it and merging that with the tiger relief, the frame has a ridged hole in the back so it can hang on a wall. I found another door lion that was 3D scanned. I turned it into a model you can hang on the wall on a nail or screw. If you like this one, I have more of these on Thingiverse! I found this 3D scan by Lin Lin (http://www.123dapp.com/obj-Catch/wolf-head/1510385) and made it 3D printable with MeshMixer. This is a 3D scan of a sculpture of a lion's head on a Thames bridge in London. It was done with 123D Catch and the original by Edgar Davey is here: http://www.123dapp.com/catch/Lionhead/2339659. I used MeshMixer and VisCAM to edit the file, I deleted surroundings, filled holes, modeled some parts and made a hole in the back so the model can hang on a nail or screw. http://www.3dwp.nl

This is a 3D scan of an Athena bust from the Altes Museum in Berlin. I found the file here: http://www.123dapp.com/catch/Athenea-Altes-Museum-Berlin/4186336 I used MeshMixer to edit the file and make it 3D printable, it took some work but the result is nice. I deleted noise objects, filled holes, modeled areas with different brushes, plane cut a flat base, oriented it upright and scaled it 125 mm in height. http://www.3dwp.nl
