I was very tired of the complete mess of cables that were bundled around the MK8 Extruder. The extruder in it's own it's a nice looking piece of equipment, but looks very amateur when the cables are all hanging around cable tied. i've used the original Pursa cable mount , that is already prepared for the Zip-Ties and have created a backplate that goes on the original Geeetech i3 Extruder metal carriage. My all in one replacement for just about any printer that uses a MK8 style hotend (14.3mm between the middle of the screws) Requires screws that are 4mm longer than you're using currently and I recommend using washers. If you're using specifically the Sunlu S8 hotend (red/silver, doesn't matter) print the Stock S8 duct and ABL spacer. Also, use your short screw on the bottom for the stock 4010 and the long one on the top, I'll make this easier to thread at some point as it's quite a lot of meat...

Uses the heat sink fan of the MK8 extruder to also do active cooling of the print. This is a remix of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:22297 because my extruder head orientation and dimensions were somewhat different and the original design would not fit. This version is 11mm thick, which is the same thickness as the heat sink. A LED mount that attaches to the MK8 extruder. The LEDs I found in an auto parts store. They are an LED ring for a driving light. It's called QuadFire Haloz by Alpena. I like the square shape and it fits the shape of the MK8 extruder. This is made for the Milled/Printed 3D Printer (MP3DP) PrusaI3 style. I remixed it to let me get lower with the sensor, and I also moved the sensor a bit closer to the print head. Working on my Mostly Printed 3D Printer. Update Nov 2018. I have moved away from the inductive sensor and into a BLTouch, and I have a e3d v6 (clone) now, but I was just looking at this, and I would thing that someone could do pretty well by installing it between the stepper and the extruder instead of here. Just a thought...

The extruder mount made by Draman looked like it would be the perfect fit for my printer. however once I tried to install it, I found two problems: A lack of screw holes, and the mount was backwards for my setup. I recreated this model in Solidworks to try and solve this problem. There are two different files, one with a slot cut out, and one without. I use the one with the slot cut out, but I left the previous version in case it's useful.

Fan cover for 40mm which is fastened with two bolts like MK8 extruders. Cover snaps on the empty bolt holes. Lots of negative surface to ensure the free air flow and low noise level. The cover is possible to print with out the support with 20mm/s. Cooling in the picture is sufficient http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2084648 even that curved bridging is a bit challenging :-)

This is upraded lukie80 box. Honeycomb redesigned for relaxed print, 2 new flat cable holes. Old USB and flat cable holes are braced with frame. Left top side edge of box are strengthen. This was wery good 3D design training ... Of course those cahnges are prastical (I made before this original house and I noticed those small problems) (This thing was made with Tinkercad. This part helps to correct print with filaflex, using Anet A8 printer with an adapter MK8. This part directs correctly the filaflex to nozzle hole. Without this part, sometimes the fillaflex is pressed in the nozzle hole. this provokes that print stop before finish at 100%.

I've designed this air duct for a 50mm radial fan on my GEEETech I3 Pro B after using XDr4g0nX's fan shroud for quite a while (thanks for the design!). However, I think my approach has several advantages: * The base and the throat are much more slender. Help to guide the filament into the MK8 extruder, the beauty of this part you don't need to undoing tension screw, it clamp around the end of the block. Heat hot end, remove filament once hot enough, remove the Cooling fan and insert this part. Once Cooling fan back in place, add filament again.

Those Aluminium Mk8 Extruders have all that filament guiding part missing , well not all but the cheaper ones for sure, and it has been a pain to to change filament without that guiding part ! All you need to complete this is some small piece of PTFE (teflon) tubing to fit insite upper guide hole So here it is .. hope it can be helpful as much it helped me, enjoy!

This is a modified version of the extruder unit of Prusa i3 MK2 to fit most other printers out there.
