I modified the Scad model of thing:3062413 and made a bubble level indicator use round spirit level. Hole diameter is 10 mm. You can use double sided adhesive tape for fixing it to the mount.

This is a single large handle for the RA adjustment knobs of the Celestron AVX. Larger handles help reduce the force needed to turn them and give the added benefit of more fine control over the adjustment amount.

I needed to recycle a old celestron Advance VX mout and a old vixen tripod. I have sand down the base of the mount to fit into the vixen tripod. I needed something to adapt the mount and to be able to use azimth screw. I printed it with PolyMax PLA at 200°C with a Hornet Artillery 3D printer.

If you don't have the room on your OTA to mount a guide scope for some reason, and have a newer AVX with the dual saddle, this allows you to have a dovetail mount or blank plate on the unused side of your AVX mount. I did remix the dovetail portion of this design but I cannot locate it to attribute the original designer.

I just had to see for myself how well these things worked and I have to admit that I was blown away. This has to be the easiest and most affordable way to get perfect focus on a telescope. Designed so that it fits under the dust cover when stored but can be easily removed or rotated. Modeled this based on a PDF downloaded from a no longer active online generator. An adapter to mount a 1.5" PVC pipe to any mount that can accept a vixen (CG-5) dovetail. This a non destructive modification to add a bearing to the lower end of the RA on an AVX mount. The larger piece holds a 35x52x12 mm bearing and threads into the housing. The smaller threaded piece screws onto the shaft to provide tension, and the spacer is used on the top end of the shaft. I also cut a piece of the feeler gauge for to shim the inside diameter of the bearing to fit the shaft. This is untested! Use at your own risk! This mod could make your AVX become self aware and harmful!!!...

I'm trying to improve the guided imaging results from my AVX. I've found the clutch to be the biggest problem. When tightened, it squishes and deforms the ring gear, and this causes binding between the ring gear and worm. These two parts all you need to tighten the clutch without putting any uneven pressure on the ring gear. It tightens along the length instead. I found that I can now adjust the worm to be much tighter with less binding than before. I haven't tried it out yet, so we'll see. --...

Some sample footage off a new Sony HXR-NX80. The Auto focus did pretty good considering I was shooting through glass about 5 feet from the tank. Here are the stats for the clip: 1920 x 1080, 120 frame rate at 60Mbs, XAVC - S HD. Converted by Edius 9 to 29.97 frame rate H.264. I do not have a memory card good for 4K so I could not test the 4k resolution.
