Bowden Extruder Holder to fit an M8 Rod that is open ended so you don't have to remove any rods to attach the holder. I don't think this will ever be as good as a holder with an enclosed M8 rod end that you would clamp between two nuts such as http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:550727 but I didn't want to dismantle anything. My goal was to attach the Bowden Extruder http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:275593 so I could try it out before deciding if I wanted to build it into a new printer.

A new extruder I designed to fit my needs. Its designed to be easy maintainable, with quick release, and the sliding rail to connect the body to the holder. On the images, there are no springs.. they should be added between the quick release and the bolt heads. The design uses M3 round headed allen key bolts.

I like direct drive extruders since they are small with less parts however I find them not to be as reliable as geared extruders; with direct drive extruders I had problems with cheap filament since the tolerances are all over the place sometimes the direct drive lacks the power to push the filament through, not a problem with the geared extruder hence when I use good reliable expensive filament I'll go with the direct drive but with cheap filament I always feed it to my geared extruder...

Summary I have a solution that totaly convert the RB original extruder to a Bowden Extruder together with the RB original nozzle-part or with any 4mm teflon cable connected Extruder (like the E3D v5-6 and many others) One part adds M6 connection to the extruder using the same mounting as the nozzle/fan/heater-block. The other part creates a M6 mounting-block with the same mounting holes as the nozzle/fan/heater-block. The two items creates a "extension" of the RB original design from...

Summary This is a small NEMA 17 sized bowden extruder using all 3D printed structural parts, designed and tested for high-speed/high-volume printing. To make the design simpler and more compact, the filament is routed through the pivoting arm containing the idler bearing. This also allows the extruder to accommodate different sized drive gears. A large spring puts 14kg (30lb) or more (over 14kg is untested) of pressure at the point where the filament contacts the drive gear, allowing better...

I made up this mount to allow mounting to 30 x 30mm alluminium extrusion without the need to drill holes. The mount is secured to the extrusion with M6 T-bolts and the extruder is secures to this mount with M3 cap screws and nuts. Suits thing file 566791 I vapor smoothed the mount to match the extruder that was also smoothed. This is a Decorative Cap I designed to fit my extruder so I could watch it turn. It has no functional purpose except to exist. If you print this it is for a 5mm shaft and you will need to drill out the slightly undersize center hole to fit your shaft. It should be a tight press fit.

I always like small packages hence I try to do my parts as small as I can but I wanted it to be strong so I beef it up a bit the part is thick but didn't add to...

I'm very fond of this extruder design so I decided to make some improvements. The original design is capable of pushing filament with great force albeit this requires the stepper to be driven with high current. Increased current means that the motor heats up and the heat is dissipating through all parts of the motor, including the axle and MK8 wheel which eventually will make the filament softer and deform causing feeding failure. With the adding of the coling duct and the rear fan mount the...

I really liked the idea of alexspeller's Saturn Extruder, but was disappointed that he wasn't interested in making a 1.75mm version. While not required for 1.75mm filament, a geared extruder can be useful in certain instances. As such, I re-mixed the 3mm Saturn Extruder and made a few modifications. The first modification is the obvious conversion to accept 1.75mm filament. One thing I had noticed as I was evaluating the original design is that it wouldn't be suitable for flexible filaments due...

This is a simple thing to solve a simple problem. Trying to feed new filament through my bowden extruder while holding the spring back required three hands, one of which I'm lacking. This simple device can be used to hold the spring compressed and feed the filament. It may or may not be the right size for your extruder but a simple resizing (along the width axis) will make it work for you. Tolerances can be quite precise so it might take some experimenting.

All Original credit goes to tech2c. Heres why i did this. I was slightly under extruding. Different filaments gave me different results when calibrating my E steps. So,i noticed that the gap between the mk7 drive gear and the mount was large. So upon reading more into it, it should be smaller. Also this would also help when using flexible materials. So i decided to extend the mount closer to the drive gear. Now my extrusion is perfect. I suspect the filament bent some previously. **This was my...

Since my original Extruder Gears of the Hephestos 2 are worn badly out(after like 4000++ hours of printing). I switched to a Bowden Extruder and made a pretty basic mount for it. To have it mounted on the X-Carriage. Floating Extruder (for lack of a better name.... Bob up and down extruder) Used with a Delta printer. I use it on my Mini Kossel Printer. Designed to use a Wade Extruder. Allows the use of a bowden extruder setup without needing to have bends in the bowden tubing. Allows for shortest possible length feeding tube. Because the tubing stays straight, there is a reduced force needed to push plastic through the bowden tube and needs less retraction. Also the bend in the bowden tube doesn't put...

This is a fully printable 1.75mm bowden extruder. The release lever allows for easy insertion of the filament. The filament tension is adjusted via the recessed cap screw at the rear. There is no top or bottom, the extruder can be mounted to the stepper motor for either left or right hand operation. I put a piece of foam in the filter along with a couple drops of mineral oil. This cleans and lubricates the filament. The filter is press fitted to the body. You insert it and give a slight twist...

I am using this to print with TPU on Geeetech A30 with aluminium feeder. To fix it in place, I used 5mm of bowden tube (see pictures), only about 3mm is protruding at the rear. Also, holes print a bit narrower depending on your printer/settings, small one at front needs to be expanded to 2mm (to fit 1.75 filament) and one at the back to ~4 mm to fit bowden tube.

You might need to insert 5mm long piece of bowden tube between the guide and the pneumatic fitting (as shown in the second photo). This will make the filament change even easier. Summary I think this is the design I will use for any further work. (Mixing nozzle version next) Please post a Like if you do. Tip would be mind-blowing, even 5c or 5p. It's not about the amount. I did try some of the complex cooling nozzles others had designed, but it cluttered the nozzle and hid it. Also if air is blown at a central point it can only go upwards towards the extruder, cooling it? IMHO it needs to flow across the surface, not at the nozzle directly. You can see if it's cooling...

The original extruder positioning on my Tronxy X5S-2E resulted in quite long bowden tubes, so I wanted to reposition them better. Ended up moving the extruders upwards, partly on top of the bed. Managed to cut ~30cm of the 70+cm tubes (which had a bit of slack so the actual improvement isn't full 30cm). Lower retraction and linear advance FTW (4mm -> 3mm, K1.2 -> K0.5). As I use 2 extruders that have quite long motors (planetary), I printed other mount mirrored. Attaches to the 20x20...

for flsun i3. I replaced the xtruder by this https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/MK8-Aluminum-Alloy-Bowden-Extruder-For-1-75mm-Filament-3D-Printer-Parts-Reprap-H029/32834635459.html I needed a precise guide for the filament in the flsun 3D i3 using a metal bowden extruder with the flsun screw mounted on the motor. Without this part it is impossible to print with rubber or flexible filament This part guide the filament close to the wheel
