I think there are versions of the classic clam shell case available on Thingiverse. I decided on a more minimalist approach. I printed at 0.35mm. 5% infill, The sleeve should fit all classic tape racks and -shelves. It is very low profile. I added the cut version also just in case someone wants the most minimal protection to their tapes. I was cleaning out a room and found some old cassette audiobooks I wanted to preserve digitally, so I could scrap the lossy physical copy. Unfortunately, my cassette player was also showing its age and did not have enough torque to rewind the tape since it was applying torque to the larger of the two tape windings. Whipped this Thing up in a few minutes to use the increased torque of a drill. Be careful, a drill has more than enough torque to destroy your cassette. It worked well though!...

Splicing blocks are useful for salvaging damaged cassette tapes by helping to remove damaged sections of tape. There are a few types still available new, but they lack features like clamps for holding the ends and a splicing tape dropper to help position the tape accurately. This project uses 2 springs from wooden closthesline pegs to provide clamp pressure and one M3 x 20 screw with matching nylock nut. A small piece of thick felt or polar fleece will be required to cushion the clamps.
