Another in the recent AEI Music Propac lot (centre-right). This one is a dance compilation of electronic trip-hop, acid jazz and an occasional (now-)"old skool" rap. It was published probably in 1993 or later ("Duran Durant's "Ordinary World" in track 3 dates it to around that time). No restoration, EQ or noise reduction was done on this transfer. Random tape that I found at a local goodwill. Hard to date but interesting nonetheless. From the context clues, I think this person lived in NYC. Had a lot of friends, and likely was a train operator for the subway. How it wound up 100 miles away is a mystery to me. Do NOT call any numbers heard on the tape, obviously. The tape was an old Sanyo compact cassette with the 60s/70s compact cassette logo.

Another AEI custom light rock/instrumentals tape, from February 1993. The client name is not known. (It's not from The Gap. I've verified it.) It sounds like it could be another Red Lobster instore programme, albeit a little more upbeat than the August tape. Now days the majority of people discover new music on streaming services. But before that you probably had an extensive MP3 collection which became popular in the early 2000’s. There are probably kids out there today who have never owned a CD, a cassette tape, or a record. Wow, that makes me feel old. The purchase of a CD is actually how I met my wife over 18 years ago!
