Yet another dust filter case from my own design. After some ideas from a fellow thingiverse member, I tried to design my own dust filter for my Ender 2 printer. This 2 parts prints together in one shot thus provide an inner joints. You may need to adjust you printer setting. I liked the filament dust filter from Thing #190118 (by sneakypoo), but the latch on the lid is designed with the inside edge exactly matching the curve of the outside edge of the flip side of the filter; so when the lid is closed, the latch exerts no pressure and the filter wants to pop open. This version just bends the latch slightly to make sure the filter stays firmly closed while in use.

Summary I had a few problems with the original one fitting together properly, and I felt like it was bigger than what I needed, and I wanted one that would hold less foam for lower resistance.

Just another dust filter for 1.75 filament. I do not like printing the hinge in place as it gives unnecessary bulk to the hinge. I am using simple pin that I cut to proper length. Holes for hinge pin need some cleaning with 1mm drill. I used pin vice and went slowly. Otherwise the plastic can melt. There is one "blind" hole - the pin should be pushed in with force. No need for glue.

Summary I really like 'The Duck' dust filter by Panayiotis_3d, but it can't be used as a clip if you stack the spools on top of each other. So I did a quick mashup of it with the 'Universal Spool Clip' by mc0676 to create the optimal filter & clip combo for me. Maybe someone else will find it useful as well. Uses the same cap as the original "The Duck", which you can download from its page.

This is the revise version of my 1st design that can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2786195 I found out that this one printed nicely out from my Ender 2 and fit perfectly as I intended it to be. I tucked in a soft sponge inside it and add in a couple drop of oil from time to time to help reduce the clogged onto my print head and in the same time filter dust out. No more head clogging for me ever since. My printer setting are as per below:

After i have tested different dust filters i wanted to design one to fit better to my needs. I wanted to have a dust filter and an filament clip in one part for each of my spools because for da vinci mini w i have to change completely the spool because of the nfc tag. It fits nearly perfect to the spool and i had to drill the hole to 2mm with the screwdriver. It is not yet completely tested but the filament should glide thorugh relatively easy.

This is a twist together filter case designed to fit both 1.75 and 3 mm filament. The filter is wrapped around the filament and slid into the lower (smaller diameter) section. The top half can then be placed over, lining up the guide tab with the filament slot. Push to the end, then twist to lock.

When I printed Holspeed's Filament Roller Guide (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3052488), I realized that it touches the filament filter I was using. This caused friction, and the roller did not spin properly. So I added a roller guard to his model.

There is some debate if a dust filter is necessary or useful for a 3D printer. I honestly don't know the answer, but I prefer to not have dust in my extruder. In the first weeks of printing with my MK3 without a filter I experienced a jammed nozzle, after I installed a filter it never happened again. But this could of course be a coincidence. In one of the pictures you can see the dust this filter has filtered in a few weeks and I am not printing very often. Simply print the part in 0.1mm layer...

simpel clip-on filament filter for craftbot 3's FMS sensor. one for left and one for right side. with a press-fit lid to "hide" away your funky colour sponge. This is a Deezemaker Bukito v1 printer duster filter for 1.75mm filament. It keeps the dust off your filament as it enters your extruder. This mounts perfectly in front of the filament extruder feeder. It only requires a small zip tie and a fine cut to size sponge or foam to install it. If you work in a very dusty environment this is a requirement.

Hi There, print without support if it is printed from the Back. The 80 mm Fan sucks air out of the Box. It is for Paperlike Filter to stick it to the Holder and then Tape the Holder and Base airtight.

Simple filament dust remover and oiler. Instructions: Cut out a kitchen sponge, fitting in the top part (diameter 10 to 15 mm, heigth 5 to 10 mm). Make a slit in half to center direction and put in between both parts. Put it around the filament and turn, until it fastens. Optional put some oil into the open holes. This assembly will keep your filament clean during the printing process. Can be assembled without unfeeding the filament.

This is the first thing I've ever designed from scratch. I had it printed by my university library so I don't know much about the settings they used. I wanted a filament filter that would filter off any dust caused by the extruder. All the other filters I found were pre-extruder attachments so I made this one.

i added a hole to vincent3d's remixed filament oiler because im lazy and this will make adding more oil easier. simply print one of my files and the other half from vincent3ds release the files have corrosponding filenames https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2349995 from my files and the ones supplies by vincent3d. simply print 1 of each part 1 and 2, this way you only have 1 fill hole.

I couldn't find an oiler I liked so I designed one to fit on my printer. It's a fairly simple design and it works with this filament guide: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:374368 I cut up a simple sponge and added some canola oil. This is used for PLA heated at 196.

This is a dust filter for the HP Z4 Workstation. Despite the original filter, this one is mounted outside the front cover, so it can be cleaned very easy. The STL-Files are just the frame. The filter layer is made from Organza fabric, which has to be inserted between the layers. Organza is a very fine mesh fabric mage from nylon. The mesh size is around 0.5mm. I use 20" box fans for supplemental air cleaning in my shop. This is a common practice, but the way to attach the filters differs greatly. I wanted something that would attach to the fan using the existing screws and would be small/print quickly. This was relatively quick to design and print.
