The present study investigates the conversion efficacy of glucose into calcium salt of gluconic acid (calcium gluconate) through fermentation by using the fungus Aspergillus niger (A. niger) . The study further evaluates the impact of various process parameters and thereby identifies the optimum parameters to maximize the output. The different process parameters evaluated in this study were glucose concentration, pH, temperature, and aeration. After that, the optimized process pre-treatment...

The Stub airlock is an invincible airlock using very little water and 29g of filament at 100% infill with support. It will be waterproof with any filament, it is invincible, it might be overkill, but it will work. With a 40$ 1kg roll of filament the stub cost 1.20 The very small exit hole ensures nothing unwanted enters easily, even without the water an active ferment will push out enough co2 to stop anything. Thick walls ensure rigidity and watertightness even with sub par printers

The stub is an airlock meant to be cheap, waterproof with any filament, and practically invincible. It is small, but that is its greatest strength. With only approx~27g of filament at 100% infill with supports. It is cheaper than buying a real airlock, with a 40 dollar role of filament this cost $1.08. You can reduce the amount of filament by thinning out the walls. Small yet affective a bit of glue can make any bottle a fermenter with the stub.

This is a couple of different options for an Inkbird ITC-1000 enclosure. It is designed to fit a standard squared outlet (the straps will need to be shortened to fit within the enclosure.) There are four knockouts sized for 1/2 connectors to protect power source. Designed to minimize need for supports The 2-gang box can be used as a single stage (cold/hot,) or if you snap the connector on the outlet, can be used to control both hot and cold. Sourdough is the oldest form of leavened bread and has been used since the time of the pharaohs. Sourdough is a mixture of flour and water that is fermented by naturally present Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) and yeast. With modernization and an increase in demand, the bread industry currently produces easy to leaven soft bread using Baker’s yeast. To get a sourdough bread with consistent flavors and texture is considered to be an art and skill. The purpose of our endeavor has been to bring in...

There are huge biomass waste disposed every day in agricultural countries that can be useful and are potential to mankind. These wastes can be useful in production of biofuels like bioethanol. In future bioethanol can be used instead of petroleum fuels that pollute our environment. In biofuel production various process like saccharification and selection of proper microbial strains are important. Using biomass to make bioethanol is cheap and help to clean waste in environment. Although the...

It was determined that cultivation of Talaromyces aurantiacus, Penicillium oxalate and Aspergillius niger on orange peel substrate under various SSF conditions is a low- cost alternative to submerged-liquid fermentation when it comes to pectinase production. Optimization of environmental conditions for Pectinase production was carried out using Pectinase screening agar media (PSAM). Among other factors, 0 the parameters that...

A quick and dirty remix of the original to include enough space at the bottom for an 1860 battery holder. It could be glued in or for a more solid/"permanent" solution the zip-tie holes have also been moved so that they can still be used. For me it was easier and safer to find a battery with no wires attached and instead use a holder. Hopefully it can come in handy to someone else. (I will post some pictures once I manage to find time to take photos.)

# When fermentation goes wild This thing is about fermenting beer. Usually an airlock will be sufficient for your fermentation, but sometimes – if the head space in the fermenter is tight or the yeast is too aggressive – you will need a blow off tube. I designed this after lessons learned (my fermentation spilled over for the first time). It's a custom lid for wide mouth mason jars. ## Variants for your setup I did a poll on two homebrew groups to determine the most used inner hose...

Air lock designed for in-bottle fermenting, originally I designed it for fermenting cider in glass bottles but it should work with any bottles with a mouth diameter between 24 - 30mm (potentially others if you scale the model before printing) To use simply fill with water from the top then insert tightly into neck of bottle (some silicon tape/rubber band/ teflon tape would all help in making a tighter seal but I haven't had any issues using the print as is)

Let me introduce my self made fermentation data logger "Fermy". Why Fermy...? I simply had no better idea! How the system works: The Fermy system records the amount of bubbles per minute, which pass the fermentation tube, the beer temperature and the ambient temperature, pressure and humidity. The sensor itself is connected to a wifi-network and the MQTT-broker (Raspberry Pi) subscribes to the topics of the sensor. Via Node-Red and Telegraf, the data were sent to a InfluxDB database,...

This is a simple fermentation lid for wide mouth ball jars. You will still need the ball jar rings. For a better seal, you can add a rubber o-ring or foodgrade silicone between the jar and the lid. Just add water and place the cap. Make sure water level is always filled halfway. You can also use nail polish and paint the cap to know when the water level is too low.

I recently began making a starter culture to bake sourdough bread. One requirement is to have a fabric lid on a glass jar to allow the culture to breathe and grow properly. Rather than constantly using rubber bands to attach the cloth, i used a glass jar with a spring clip lid, then printed out a new lid. I then use the existing wire spring and a rubber band to attach the fabric onto the top of the new lid. This makes accessing the starter culture much easier

!!!Proof of concept!!! You're better spending 1€ in a professional one. I wanted a design, that I could print quickly, watertight and transparent; thanks PETg. standard 8.75mm diameter No angle above 45°, perfect for good overhangs. The pic is a representation of the final print, not the stl. You NEED to activate spiralize/vase mode otherwise it only a plan block. Update 1: Added a second version to print in "normal" mode, 3 parameters, 0.15 Layer Height,0.4 line width, 100%...

Studies on microorganisms associated with rumen substrates of goat ( Capra aegagrus hircus) were done through aerobic and anaerobic fermentation for a period of 12 days. Microscopic, biochemical and molecular identification were carried out. Also proximate values of the substrates over the period of fermentation were analyzed. Seven (7) aerobic bacteria species were isolated, viz.; Bacillus spp, Escherichia coli , Lactobacillus spp, Proteus spp, Pseudomonas spp, Staphylococcus spp, and Serratia...

Biofuels have been regaining popularity due to the rising price of oil, along with the growing concern about global warming caused by carbon dioxide emissions. Biofuels are processed from plant resources and are mostly made up of cellulose, which is one of the toughest materials. If cellulose can be turned into biofuel, it could be more efficient than other commercially available fuels starchy tuber. The of this study is on bioethanol production from starchy tuber. The comparative study was...
