this microstuff dsp record is for deep listening. this ep is like an open door to an oddly, cryptic world, where sanguinary creatures hide behind extrinsical trees, waiting to catch you. audio-art at its best, encoded using Ogg Vorbis _beta 3. atarix is running his own (net-)label since some time, it's called ghetto flick and you should check it out.

The basic idea for "unison" is the phenomenon of binaural tones. When the distance between congruence frequencies is changed, pulsations occur. Here, Dutch artist Christian Toonk (vinculated to the Utrecht based collective Umatic among others projects) uses a self build instrument based on sinewave oscillators and feedback loops. The output is rewired to the input and provides a somewhat unpredictable datastream, by means of creating an opponent to interact to as in collaboration....

Collaboration between Ilios and Jason Kahn dates back to the 2002 Elektrograph festival, where they first performed together. Since then they've toured Switzerland in 2004 for the Domizil vs. Antifrost CD project and performed at the 2005 Ertz Festival in Spain. "Astra" translates to "stars" in Greek; as does "Steloj," the title of their first CD, in Esperanto. This new sound output [seroton] of sascha neudeck (biochemist and musician, based in vienna) is to carry out a test by the idea of different drone-interpretations. It is more a collection of different quotations in doing with such these topics. The result is quite different to his previous work, which was more noise- and random-oriented. This new section is quite a try to arrange such these things - from totally abstract elements to poetic narrative parts. Different ideas come out from an...

It seems as though there isn't much room left for dance music in the current avant-obsessed and cut-throat world of experimental electronic music, but New Jersey resident Albert Casais is keeping the party going with his funk-infused Omnid project. Using an array of cutting edge software and his trusty Nord Lead, Casais creates a lyrical, but cold and robotic journey through abstraction, culminating in the slippery rhythms of 'milikk'--chunked trash beats cemented by a dizzying lead, endlessly...

CONVERGE, the title of Heribert Friedl's latest composition serves perfectly to underline the artist's conceptual approach to music. Distinct, fragile sounds, at times crumbling, at times rustling and droning, all move towards the same point within an organic micro-audio space. Friedl's understanding of sculpturing material in space is strongly reflected in his treatment of sounds. The quality of each sound, like the delicate sound of metal grinding or the subtle rustling of leafs, is shaped...

Introduction Questioning what kind of sound could possibly be heard when sending an e-mail, whilst on a journey across a network and whether the sound differs when you receive an e-mail or when any form of data is being transferred across a Network. A New Musical Environment The opportunity presented itself when an IT friend and I were having a conversation about his place of work and invited me to pop along and record the potential sounds. _________________ The Houses of the Russians was composed during 2004 entirely of locally recorded field recordings manipulated using Max/MSP on a PowerBook G4. Each of the pieces is a live improvisation, without overdubs or further post-recording sound processing. Like the eponymous dwellings, the six segments of this work are deliberately unnatural and out of place; they exist as nebulous entities, storm clouds born of confusion - 'Their houses are supposed to be unlucky, and no one goes near...

brand new album by Spanish pioneer Javier Hernando. The music that creates a transfuture (distant) borns from the heart of the abyss of the ultraforgotten. (María Zambrano) These words included in the sleeve suggests the spirit of this CD recorded between 2002 and 2004, also the influence of the loss and absence of love ones and scenary then is in the four austere fragile poemodulations, the ripple of a broken remembrance in a medium of fragile quite life.

garso zona (audio zone) is a continuous project of sound and video art, experimental electronic music. it started in 2003 winter as an intervention into the peripheral industrial place in kaunas, lithuania, baltic sign hangar, near the sculpture zone. the basic intention of the project was the aim to represent the lithuanian scene of experimental electronics. in the art cartography of 2003 garso zona was marked by dotted line, the motion to the margin, industrial place, used for aesthetics of...

Connecting dots & dashes. In his debut release, new artist Pocka has done something really nice here -- he's created an EP peppered with abstract bits but accented with all kinds of outright melody. The result, Chronology Brought, is something maybe reminiscent of .Tape. or Hans Appelqvist but takes familiar cues from IDM for rhythm and sound placement. Things get started with the massive, noisy three minute tsunami "Like Water In Water" -- and there couldn't be a more surprising...

Cal Crawford's online debut, this recording under the name of Speech.fake packs some serious punch. Each of these 8 tracks is a tense microuniverse peopled with the acute sense of narrative this composer is well known for. A word of caution: some of these are particularly oppressive, unlike Crawford's rather more serene subsequent output. * For full artwork and information please visit the official album page on notype.com .

Poulenc is a live interpretation of Francis Poulenc's religious choral and organ work Litanies à la Vierge Noir (1936).
