Soy protein is distinctive among the plant based proteins associated with isoflavones; the presence of phytochemical, with a variety of biological properties has potential benefits to human health. These proteins possess very good functional properties such as solubility, foaming, gelling, emulsifying and water binding properties. Soy Protein Isolate (SPI) is a plant extract protein, along with Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC) is good for getting better functional properties in food. The present...

This is the structure of the 20S core particle of the human 26S proteasome, based on the structure published by Huang et al. (Nature Structural & Molecular Biology 23, 778–785 (2016) doi:10.1038/nsmb.3273). The PDB file representing the structure determined by the researchers was edited to remove the 19S regulatory subunits and the surface rendered using Chimera (http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/), and exported as an .STL file.

This is one monomer of the valosin-containing protein complex. Print six of these to get the entire protein, they will fit into each other. Print with supports. 15% infill is fine Raft is recommended. Note: this is a long print. Generating supports and slicing the models can take up to an hour or more each.

Desolvated ACE2. This is a long print, so leave this as an overnight print or print it when you don't need to print anything. Supports are mandatory. Rafts are not mandatory but will help the supports stick to the bed. A high infill is recommended. High resolution settings are recommended but this will work well with standard resolutions settings. Depending on how powerful your computer is, expect at least an hour to generate supports and another hour to slice the model. Note: you can also use...

The complex language of eukaryotic gene expression remains incompletely understood. Despite the importance suggested by many proteins variants statistically associated with human disease, nearly all such variants have unknown mechanisms, for example, protein-protein interactions (PPIs). In this study, we address this challenge using a recent machine learning advance-deep neural networks (DNNs). We aim at improving the performance of PPIs prediction and propose a method called DeepPPI (Deep...

Using PDB id 1TUB I generated the complete helix using UCSF Chimera. I just followed this video produced by Tom Goddard. http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/videodoc/MicrotubuleSym/ I think I used a different EMDB model with known helical parameters, but I cannot find that information right now.

Aquaporin, aka the "plumbing system for cells", is a transport protein that mediates the passage of water molecules in and out of a cell. It is a tetramer (has four identical units) with each subunit creating a channel. This protein is very important for our kidney which processing a large amount of water on a daily basis. Peter Agre who discovered this protein was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2003.

This is a silly take on the proteosome as a person. Proteasomes are protein complexes that degrade unneeded or damaged proteins by proteolysis, a chemical reaction that breaks peptide bonds. Taken from PDB id 1FNT removed the outer 19S regulatory particle of the proteosome to leave only the 20S core particle.
