Introduction. The paper considers analytical studies on the “rotor – gapped-type support” dynamic system under process loading. The research objective is to obtain expressions for determining the equivalent stiffness characteristics of the system. Materials and Methods. A rotor rotating in the elastic gapped-type supports is considered. A dynamic model that enables to consider the problem of determining the linear equivalent stiffness characteristics of mounting groups is proposed. To...

An analytical investigation was conducted to study the amplitude of lateral vibrations and vibrational energy and power of an unbalanced rotor passing through its first lateral bending critical speed. A two degree-of- freedom lumped mass, damping and stiffness model was developed to simulate the response of a simply supported, single disk rotor. Given an arbitrary input acceleration or deceleration, the equations of motion were solved numerically using a fourth order Runge-Kutta routine. The...

In the present paper, the Nonlinear Harmonic (NLH) method implemented in Fine/Turbo code has been evaluated for unsteady rotor-rotor interaction analysis. Strengths and weaknesses of the NLH method are highlighted through direct comparison with experimental data and time-domain unsteady simulation for the NWPU counter-rotating research compressor (CRRC) at the design and off-design conditions. The rotor-rotor interactions were studied in detail to advance the understanding of the flow physics...

Time resolved pressure measurements on a compressor case were acquired for several uniform and non-uniform tip clearances. High frequency response pressure transducers were placed at several axial locations near the second stage axial rotor on the outer casing of an Allison C-250 compressor. Data were acquired at several fixed time intervals. The amplitude of the blade to blade variations and once per revolution static pressure distributions on the case were recorded for an as is compressor....

Like you may expect, magnets are put into the notches. The size of the magnets has to be 20x20x3 and the hole in the middle should be a M3 hole (3mm). You can find the magnets here: https://www.magnet-shop.net/neodym-magnete/quadermagnete/quadermagnet-200-x-200-x-30-mm-n45-nickel-m3-senkloch::511.html (german shop) Coils and other rotors for a bedini are in my library.

The objectives of this study were first the determine the effectiveness of the jet-flap rotor relative to other lift generators, and second to examine the potential effectiveness of the jet-flap rotor in a tactical VTOL aircraft. I was found that the jet-flap has a high theoretical potential, but it at present is the least-developed of the lift generators considered. The jet-flap rotor was found to be unattractive as a means of providing vertical lift, except when a long hover duration is...

A customizable 2-blade Savonius type wind rotor. The parameters in the .scad file can be changed to generate the rotor you want. The .scad file for the bearing housing and cover can be found here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4735770 I intended to use a M8 threaded rod to assemble the rotor. Unfortunately the hardware stores are closed during the current lockdown so I printed the shaft of the rotor slightly smaller and screwed in a bolt. Tapping in a thread will make that easier, but you...

NASA Lewis Research Center facilities were developed to support testing of the Space Station Electric Power System. The capabilities and plans for these facilities are described. The three facilities which are required in the Phase C/D testing, the Power Systems Facility, the Space Power Facility, and the EPS Simulation Lab, are described in detail. The responsibilities of NASA Lewis and outside groups in conducting tests are also discussed.

Measurement of the static-pressure distribution over the surface of a rotor disk was attempted using pressure sensitive paint (PSP). A uniform stress, high speed rotor disk, fitted with a shock generator, was built, installed and operated at speeds in excess of 20,000 RPM by a Hamilton Standard turbine driven fuel pump. A once per revolution trigger signal was converted to a transistor to transistor logic (TTL) format and used to gate an intensified charged coupled device (CCD) video camera....
