Edit 12/06/19: Added Pictures of the finished solution. I have been looking for a great way to make the Z axel go up and down. I have tried a DOZEN designs and none where what I was looking for. Now I have designed my own one and it is in y sense the best one. Easy printet, stiff, easy aligned. Almost nothing can go wrong :-) You need to print 2 of each, but choose if you want TR8 leadscrew or SFU1204 ballscrew. I have designed it so that you can mount it with the motors up or down as there are...

This belt spanner is for the genereal set-up as you can see in this Thing: I had changed to 20T XL Aluminium timing pulleys, so in consequence I had to adapt the spanning mechanism or take a shorter XL belt. I am using currently a 506XL037 and would have needed to go down to something like 490XL037. For the pulley I am using a bearing and have provided it with shoulders to prevent the belt to slip off. Why did I do the change - even with best calibration a printed 24T XL Timing pulley was not...

The standard K8200 extruder filament entry guide will wear down pretty fast when printing particulate-loaded, abrasive filaments like brick, ceramic, or glow-in-the-dark. This improved filament entry guide should last at least 3x longer (note the photo showing a worn-out standard guide on the right and the improved guide on the left. The standard guide didn't even last a whole kilogram of glow-in-the-dark filament). This improved guide is also easier to remove and replace; just grab the big...

I have been working on my printer for some time and I think the 8mm rods on the y-axis are just too flexible. So I set out to change them to 10mm. This small change of 2mm to 10mm rod should double the stiffness. (Cubic function to the diameter). Now you all could claim that we have then more mass running around. Correct! There is an increase of 56.25% in mass of the rods, or to be more specific by 124g in total. In case you print on glass this is equivalent to 1mm thickness of your glass pane....

This is a design for reducing the wobble of the Z-spindle for the K8200 printer, this design uses 6 mm steel pins. Drill the holes in the part so it moves easy, also add some lubrication. My intention was to use LM3UU bearings and a 3 mm dowel pin but this worked soo good that I never bother to change it. http://youtu.be/prmnrVQ3Sb4 an animation that shows how it works.

This pulleys give me more precise printing, nearly without backlash issue. In addition I tested them with TMC2100. Due to gear ratio 14 : 24 they give less load to TMC driver, It could produce maximum 1.7A . This combination prints nearly noiseless. I have those setting in Merlin firmware: \#define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT {115.49, 115.49, 4266.66, 150 } (200\*16)/(19\*2.5)\*(24/14) = 115.49 200 - 1.8' stepper motor (360' / 1.8' = 200) 19 - teeth on pullesy 2.5 - belt type (2.5mm between...

Summary With this spool holder you can fix most filament spool sizes, avalailable on the market. Its just compatible with the original M6 threaded rod. For installation you need: 4x minitature radial bearing 636 (shielded, sealed or unshielded) 3x hexagon nut M6 the .stl-part "fixer" helps you for quick mount of the loose spool holder. yes we know that there are several solutions that way. Our reasons for this creation were some style facts and some technical aspects like bigger range...

I have a lot of 72mm fans lying around, they are quiet and effecient and I thought it was a great idea to utilize one of them. This is an easy to print holder that make it possible to cool the stepper drivers and get rid of the hot air in all directions. It needs some screws and nuts, but it should be clears enough to assemble it. I have not yet printed it!!!! V1.1 The first version printed well and easy, but I had wrong dimensions. I've adjusted it a bit. Now it should fit a little better.

This is a case for theVelleman Pocket VU Meter Kit MK115 (http://www.velleman.co.uk/contents/en-uk/p41.html) To make use of it, you need to slightly modify the kit in two ways. (1) You need to solder the LEDs at a height of 12mm from the PCB (not flush as in the kit photos/instructions). (2) Cut through one of the copper tracks on the PCB from the battery terminal so that a push switch can be added in series with the battery. This is optional but recommended as without this switch, the battery...

We made a new design for the Velleman K8200 / 3Drag 3D printer. We used 2 TR8 spindel motors (can be found here: http://www.charlies3dt.com/en/product/nema17-stepper-motor-lead-screw) as new Z-axis. This is more sturdy than the original design! Pictures of prints following soon. We also changed the bed with a MK2 heatbed and we will add a new extruder and some electronics. The Heat isolator in the K8400/K8203 extruder has a small PTFE lining tube that needs to be replaced from time to time. It must be replaced by a new sleeve cut to 23.0mm +- 0.15mm. It is a pain to cut this straight and exactly the right length by hand. Just push the sleeve into this guide, then use the ends as a guide and trim with a sharp knife. It will help keep the cuts straight, and the length will be 23mm

This is a further refinement of my cable driven Z axis for the K8200 or 3Drag. It uses a cable loop to ensure the Z axis is driven from both ends, and at the same time provides a large degree of "z wobble" isolation, though a severely bent leadscrew will still show up in the print as artefacts in layer height due to small changes in cable tension. The cable I am using is a 3mm thick steel core clothesline, possibly overkill for the task, but works well for me. The mod is complicated,...

This is an adapter to mount a round MK3 Heatbed on a Velleman K8800. Piezo sensors for automatic bed levelling are protected from heat and should be still fully functional. Its recommended to use a heat resistant filament (PLA might melt we heat bed reaches required temperature). Cork heat shield might not always be requried (depending on temperature).

Part to adapt a Panel Mount IEC Connector (Bulgin BVA01/Z0000/11) on a side panel of a Velleman K8400 Vertex 3D printer. You will only need to replace two M5x12 by two M5x16 Hex Socket Cap Screws. By using the associated cap, there 230V ac is safe from your fingers (or inversely)! This has been designed with FreeCAD, what a wonderful software ;-) Tips are welcome, it will encourage me to produce and publish new hardware hacks ... Thanks by advance!

With this add-on you can use Marlin's auto bed leveling feature on your Velleman Vertex K8400 3D printer. In order to use this add-on you need to make several changes to your printer: 1. Print the STL's for the servo holder and the micro switch arm. 2. Solder a 2x9 PCB connector with a wire connected to the SS pin of the LCD. This pin isn't in use by any components so we can hijack it for our purpose without soldering on the mainboard. 3. Mount the servo in the holder, solder some wires to the...

This plastic part enables you to mount a TR8X2 threaded rod on your 3drag/k8200 printer. You can find a very cheap trapezoidal threaded rod kit on aliexpress.com typing "thsl-400-8d". There are 2 versions: V1: You need only self-tapping screws to lock the fz0012 nut on the printed part. V2: You need only M3 screws and nuts to lock the fz0012 nut on the printed part. If you decide to use a TR8X2 threaded rod don't forget to set "steps per mm" to Z:400. Fixed nut hole ! Enjoy...

The "L" bracket seemed to allow the bearing to tilt slightly. I noticed black shavings coming off of the belt where it would rub on one of the washers. This uses the same hardware as the L-bracket mount (plus one square nut & screw) and provides support from both sides to prevent it from getting angled.

This is an Z-axis anti wobble stabilizer that I designed for the Velleman K8200 with the K8204 spindle, which allows you to create smoother looking walls on prints. It fits directly over the Z-axis block end holders and over the Z-axis spindle. Because this is modded you may need to readjust or reprint the bottom Z-motor holder or find equivalent parts that will allow the K8204 spindle to work with the stabilizer like this Z motor holder > http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:144813

This is a good holder for the Z axis regulation screw. The holder is very stable and simple to install. For the installation you need to remove the upper screw put this item and put again the screw. To make it more stable you can insert the screw nut in the bottom hole

This thing is a mounting bracket to use the E3D Titan extruder on a Velleman K8200 printer. I printed mine with 40% infill, 0.8mm shells in black PLA. It does require 4 mounting screws, two from below, two at the back of the bracket. The rest of printer needs major changes: The layer cooling fan no longer fits, I use two extra 40mm fans left and right to the E3Dv6 hotend connected to a fan holder for the normal cooling fan mounted on the hotend heat-sink. The whole Z axis assembly needs to be...

I had an issue where the colorfabb filament was unspooling itself from the filament roll and getting jammed as it wrapped itself around the spool holder. Decided to develop this in an attempt to fix the issue. It is a remix of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:441030 which I added the vertical tower to hold the clip which is secured with a simple cylinder and can be lifted easily. Made the holder longer so it can hold two ColorFabb spools side by side, but the clip is only for the first one. It...
